Job summary

SBT Global, Inc. seeks a Tax Systems Consultant to maintain Vertex, set up tax rules, and verify calculations across client deployments in the USA. You will analyze customer requirements and tailor the system to meet objectives while coordinating with SAP processes.

Responsibilities include full-lifecycle Vertex implementations, data conversion, test planning, user training, and on-call support. The role emphasizes Agile delivery and collaboration with HQ and external partners.

Qualifications

• Korean and English bilingual proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience as a process consultant or in a similar role.
• Full-lifecycle Vertex implementation experience with Vertex or a similar US tax system.
• Strong knowledge of US tax processes.
• Knowledge and experience delivering projects within an Agile framework.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth technical knowledge of SAP.
• Project management experience involving conceptualization, organization, planning, test execution, user training, and documentation of training materials.
• Demonstrated understanding of the system development life cycle and IT practices.

• Provide full support to users across all relevant sites in the USA. Identify and understand end-user requirements, provide necessary training and documentation.
• Support and communicate with HQ regarding SAP processes related to tax changes.
• Proactively formulate process improvements based on support issues to minimize recurring needs.
• Provide strategic guidance to users in defining or designing processes to meet customer requirements; document existing processes and identify inefficiencies.
• Monitor and report on issue status; review performance against standards and provide reports.
• Serve as the primary on-call support for troubleshooting Vertex/SAP issues.
• Full-lifecycle Vertex implementation, especially integration with SAP.
• Experience with sales and use tax processes.
• Solution design, implementation, and post-implementation support.
• Creation and execution of test plans, testing, and results tracking.
• Development of training materials and documentation.
• Build and strengthen relationships with internal and external partners.

Job description

Maintain the Vertex system, including tax rule setup and tax calculation verification.

Analyze customer requirements and tailor the use of the system to meet those objectives.

Develop project plans and timelines to successfully deploy solutions and assist with data conversion; perform unit or integration testing as needed.

Provide full support to users across all relevant sites in the USA. Identify and understand end-user technical requirements, provide necessary training and documentation, build and maintain strong end-user relationships, and provide ongoing support.

Support and communicate with HQ regarding the implementation, management, and optimization of new and existing SAP processes related to tax changes, as needed to meet customer requirements.

Proactively formulate process improvements based on support issues to minimize recurring support needs.

Provide strategic guidance to users in defining or designing processes to meet customer requirements; document existing customer business processes, identify inefficiencies, recommend system improvements, and provide backup support for Vertex consultants as needed.

Monitor and report on the status of issues, proactively review and interpret performance against operating standards, and provide information and reports on results.

Serve as the primary on-call support person for troubleshooting and resolving system issues.

Full-lifecycle Vertex implementation, especially integration with SAP.

Experience with sales and use tax processes.

Solution design, implementation, and post-implementation support.

Creation and execution of test plans, testing, and results tracking.

Development of training materials and documentation.

Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen collaborative relationships with internal and external partners who can provide information, assistance, and support.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills demonstrated through teamwork, understanding of business and customer requirements, and effective communication.

Demonstrated experience and understanding of the system development life cycle, application development dynamics, and information technology practices and methods.

Korean and English bilingual proficiency is a plus.
