Job summary

Cloud Data Vision in Kansas City is seeking an experienced Automation Lead to architect and implement enterprise-grade test automation across Web, API, and integration applications. You will provide technical leadership to automation engineers, collaborate with QA leadership, developers, architects, and stakeholders to define roadmaps and ensure high-quality delivery.

The role requires hands-on development of automation scripts, design of data-driven and hybrid frameworks, and mentoring

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Engineering.
  • Strong experience in Test Automation and Automation Framework Development.
  • Experience leading automation teams or acting as an Automation Lead / Technical Lead.
  • Hands-on with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress (or equivalent).
  • Experience with API automation and testing using Postman or REST Assured.
  • Strong knowledge of Web, API, Integration, Regression, and End-to-End testing.
  • Experience designing data-driven, keyword-driven, hybrid, or BDD automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience integrating automation frameworks with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
  • Strong Git version control knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and database validation.
  • Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar test/defect management tools.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and CI/CD practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall test automation strategy, framework design, and implementation across enterprise applications.
  • Design and develop scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation engineers and SDETs.
  • Analyze application requirements and identify opportunities for automation and regression optimization.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Implement automation solutions for Web, API, database, and distributed applications.
  • Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
  • Establish automation standards, coding guidelines, reusable components, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, architecture, and business teams to resolve testing challenges.
  • Define automation coverage, execution strategy, reporting, and quality metrics.
  • Review automation code and ensure adherence to framework and coding standards.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual testing efforts through automation.
  • Troubleshoot automation failures and resolve application-related issues.
  • Support test planning, estimation, execution, defect management, and release readiness activities.
  • Evaluate new automation tools and technologies and recommend improvements to the automation ecosystem.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test efficiency, quality, coverage, and execution speed.
  • Provide regular status updates, automation metrics, risks, and progress to QA/program leadership.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Lead to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level test automation solutions. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership to automation engineers, establish scalable automation frameworks, drive automation strategy, and ensure high-quality delivery across web, API, and integration applications.

The Automation Lead will work closely with QA leadership, developers, architects, business stakeholders, and offshore/onshore teams to define automation roadmaps, improve test coverage, and implement continuous testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience with performance or load testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • Experience with mobile automation using Appium or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted testing, intelligent test automation, or self-healing automation.
  • Experience working with large enterprise transformation or modernization programs.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor onsite/offshore automation engineers.
  • Establish automation best practices and governance.
  • Define automation roadmap and execution priorities.
  • Conduct code/framework reviews and provide technical guidance.
  • Coordinate with multiple project teams and stakeholders.
  • Track automation coverage, execution results, defects, and productivity metrics.
  • Drive adoption of automation across different testing workstreams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
