Job summary

Staffingine LLC is seeking an SAP Technical Lead ( onsite) in Chicago to own L3 escalations, coordinate with SAP under the RISE model, and lead RCA for critical incidents. The role focuses on ABAP/CDS, Fiori/UI5, CPI integration, EDI maps, and end-to-end release coordination.

The candidate should bring 8+ years in SAP technical roles, with S/4HANA Hypercare or stabilization experience, and comfort as the technical face of the AMS team for Blistex leadership.

Qualifications

• Solid SAP Basis fundamentals with transport management and system refresh basics.

• Fiori/UI5 app support experience, standard and custom apps.

• Familiarity with Adobe Forms and output management.

Responsibilities

• Own L3 technical escalation for SAP issues across AMS scope.
• Coordinate with SAP within the RISE boundary; delineate application vs platform issues.
• Oversee CPI and EDI interface health; diagnose root causes of failures.
• Review ABAP/CDS changes for WRICEF objects before change control.
• Own Fiori/UI5 and Adobe Forms support, validate fixes don’t regress others.
• Manage release and transport coordination with impact assessments for changes.
• Lead root-cause analysis for high-severity incidents and drive permanent fixes.
• Maintain and evolve technical runbooks, monitoring catalogs, and known-error records.
• Represent technical status in daily Hypercare reviews and governance forums.
• Act as technical escalation owner for P1/P2 incidents outside business hours (24x7).

Job Description:

• Own L3 technical escalation - code-level, CDS view, and architecture-level issues that L1/L2 cannot resolve
• Coordinate with SAP under the RISE model, maintaining a clear boundary between application-layer issues (AMS-owned) and platform/infrastructure issues (SAP-owned)
• Oversee CPI and EDI interface health at a technical level - not necessarily building every fix, but diagnosing whether a failure is a mapping issue, a technical/connectivity issue, or a downstream master-data issue
• Review and approve ABAP/CDS changes for WRICEF objects (reports, enhancements, forms, conversion programs) before they move through change control
• Own Fiori/UI5 and Adobe Forms support - approving fixes and validating they don't regress other apps
• Manage release and transport coordination, including impact assessment before SAP-driven or Blistex-driven changes go in
• Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or high-severity technical incidents and drive permanent fixes rather than repeated workarounds
• Maintain and evolve technical runbooks, monitoring catalogues, and known-error records
• Represent technical status in daily Hypercare reviews and monthly/quarterly governance forums
• Act as technical escalation owner for P1/P2 incidents outside business hours (24x7 coordination)

Required Technical Skills

• Strong background in SAP Basis fundamentals - enough to work the RISE boundary intelligently (transport management, system refreshes, performance basics), even though infrastructure itself sits with SAP
• Working knowledge of SAP Security/authorizations - role troubleshooting, access issue triage
• Solid ABAP and CDS views background - able to read code, diagnose root cause, and review fixes (hands-on coding not always required if a dedicated developer is on the team, but strongly preferred for a lean model)
• Fiori/UI5 app support experience - standard and custom apps
• SAP CPI / Integration Suite - iFlow monitoring, error diagnosis, familiarity with message mapping
• SAP EDI - understanding of IDoc processing, EDI transaction sets, and trading-partner map structures (240+ maps is a meaningful footprint - this shouldn't be a stretch skill)
• Exposure to S/4HANA 2023 technical architecture and RISE with SAP operating model specifically (not just on-prem experience)
• Familiarity with Adobe Forms and output management

Experience Profile

• 8 12+ years in SAP technical/Basis-adjacent roles, with at least one S/4HANA Hypercare or stabilization engagement
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or CPG environment with contract manufacturing or 3PL integration is a strong plus
• Experience operating under RISE with SAP or a hyperscaler-managed SAP model specifically (this is a distinct skill from traditional on-prem Basis ownership)
• ITIL-aligned incident/problem/change management experience

Soft Skills

• Comfortable being the technical face of the AMS team to Blistex IT leadership
• Strong judgment on when to elevate to SAP vs. resolve internally - this is the single most consequential skill under RISE
• Able to translate technical root cause into business-impact language for functional and executive stakeholders
• Calm under pressure during P1 incidents - this role is the technical escalation point 24x7 for critical severities
