Role Overview

We’re seeking an experienced SAP SD Lead / Director to lead our Sales & Distribution (SD) practice area. You’ll be responsible for driving delivery excellence, shaping sales strategy, and managing client relationships in SD transformations (order‑to‑cash, pricing, billing, delivery, returns, etc.). This role combines hands‑on functional expertise with leadership, sales support, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee SAP SD module implementations, upgrades, and optimizations across clients, ensuring high quality, timely delivery.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders (Sales, Logistics, Finance) to gather requirements, define solution designs, manage configurations, integrations (with FI, MM, Logistics modules), and drive end‑to‑end order‑to‑cash cycle improvements.
• Define and enforce best practices for SAP SD processes, master data, pricing, credit management, billing, shipping/delivery, and returns.
• Drive pre‑sales activities: scoping, proposal development, solution demos, estimation, and client presentations.
• Mentor, grow, and manage a team of SAP SD consultants/functional analysts; ensure continuous learning, certifications, and skills development.
• Coordinate with technical teams (ABAP, Basis, Integration) to ensure all technical and interface components align with the SD design.
• Provide oversight for testing phases (unit, integration, UAT, regression), cutover planning, go‑live support, and post‑production hypercare.
• Track metrics for SD delivery: project margins, client satisfaction, delivery efficiency, team utilization, and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with SAP SD innovations (SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, cloud, SAP Activate methodology) and bring recommendations for upgrades or process enhancements to clients.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 10+ years of SAP experience, including 3-5+ full lifecycle SD implementations in SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA OR Public Cloud
• Deep functional knowledge of SD module: order management, pricing, billing, delivery & logistics, credit management, returns.
• Strong experience in integrating SD with MM, FI/CO, Logistics, and downstream systems (shipping, billing engines, partner systems).
• Demonstrated leadership managing client delivery and teams; strong ability to mentor and manage performance.
• Prior exposure to sales or business development in SAP consulting (proposal writing, estimation, client engagement).
• Very good project management skills; comfortable overseeing large scope projects, budgets, timelines, resource planning.
• Excellent communication skills: ability to interact with senior client leadership, translate business needs into technical designs.
• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology, best practices, and preferably experience with cloud or hybrid SAP landscapes.
• Bachelor’s degree (IT / Business / Engineering) required; advanced degree or SAP certification preferred.
