Job Title: OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) – SAP S/4HANA Functional & Technical Consultant

Our client portfolio includes major players in the chemical and broader manufacturing sectors. We are seeking a seasoned SAP/OpenText professional to drive a high‑impact automation project that will raise invoice‑processing automation from 20% to 70% in a live S/4HANA environment.

2.Job Summary

The selected consultant will act as both a functional and technical authority for OpenText VIM within an SAP S/4HANA 2021 (FPS02) landscape. Working closely with the client’s project lead and the implementation partner, you will:

• Analyse the current VIM configuration, identify gaps, and design a robust re‑configuration that meets the target automation rate.
• Lead the end‑to‑end configuration, testing, documentation, and production rollout of OpenText VIM 20.4 SP07 (including integration with Ariba).
• Provide on‑site/virtual hyper‑care and warranty support post‑go‑live, ensuring a smooth transition to business users.

3.Key Responsibilities

• Discovery & Design
  • Conduct a detailed gap analysis of the existing VIM set‑up.
  • Review current item‑match logic, exception handling, background jobs, and user determination.
  • Propose configuration enhancements (e.g., robust item‑match rules, custom exceptions, automated background jobs).
• Configuration Planning
  • Create a step‑by‑step configuration plan aligned with the agreed implementation date.
  • Coordinate directly with the client's project lead and implementation partner to synchronize build activities in both the current and upgraded S/4 systems.
• Build & Test
  • Perform configuration following the standard dev → quality → production transport path.
  • Develop, execute, and document System Integration Testing (SIT) scripts.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) – troubleshoot issues, refine configurations, and obtain sign‑off.
• Documentation
  • Capture all configuration settings, custom logic, and exception rules on client‑provided templates.
  • Produce a comprehensive “as‑built” document package for future support teams.
• Deployment & Post‑Go‑Live
  • Plan and execute production deployment activities (cut‑over, data migration, validation).
  • Deliver a 2‑week hyper‑care period to address immediate post‑go‑live issues.
  • Provide a 90‑day warranty (defect resolution only, no new enhancements).
• Optional Managed Services
  • Offer continued application, enhancement, and production support on a managed‑services basis (if selected).

4.Required Skills & Experience

• OpenText VIM (Version20.4 SP07) – Proven configuration & optimization experience; ability to drive automation rates ≥70%
• SAP S/4HANA (2021, FPS02) – Hands‑on experience with S/4 upgrades, transport management, and integration points
• SAP Ariba – Integration experience (e.g., PO‑to‑invoice flow)
• Configuration & Gap Analysis – Demonstrated ability to map business processes to SAP/OpenText settings and produce clear design documents

5.Qualifications

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Certifications – SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA for Financial Accounting (optional but advantageous). OpenText VIM certification (highly desirable).
• Experience – 5‑8years of combined functional and technical experience with SAP S/4HANA and OpenText VIM. Minimum 2successful VIM re‑configuration projects delivering measurable automation improvements.
• Language – Business‑level English (written & spoken). Additional language(s) a plus for multinational clients.

6.Project Timeline & Deliverables

• Kick‑off & Current State Assessment – 1week – Gap‑analysis report, high‑level redesign recommendations
• Configuration Planning – 1week – Detailed configuration work‑plan, transport schedule
• Build (Dev & Quality) – 2‑3weeks – Configured VIM system, SIT test scripts
• Testing (SIT & UAT) – 2weeks – Completed SIT sign‑off, UAT sign‑off with issue log
• Production Deployment – 1week – Cut‑over checklist, go‑live support
• Hyper‑care – 2weeks – Issue resolution log, knowledge‑transfer sessions
• Warranty Period – 90days – Defect resolution (no new enhancements)
