Job summary

Gotham Technology Group seeks a senior SAP Finance expert to own SAP FICO, AR, and payment integrations across wholesale, retail and online channels. The role involves configuring and supporting general ledger, receivables, payables and tax processes, and ensuring month-end close with SOX controls.

The candidate will lead digital payments integration with providers, troubleshoot cross-system issues, and mentor junior analysts while driving compliant finance changes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on SAP Finance (FICO) experience

Responsibilities

• Own SAP Finance (FICO): GL, AR, AP, cost accounting, tax and month-end close.
• Run Accounts Receivable and Credit Management, including cash application, collections, and write-offs across channels.
• Own Digital Payments: manage card payments lifecycle and PCI compliance across providers.
• Troubleshoot integrations between SAP and external systems (e-commerce, POS, banks, tax engines).
• Deliver and govern finance changes: requirements, design, testing, go-live, SOX and audit documentation.

Job description

This person is the company's lead expert on the finance side of SAP, the system that records sales, payments and accounting. They set up and maintain how SAP handles money coming in from customers: invoicing, credit approvals, card payments, refunds and matching payments to invoices.

When a payment fails, an order is wrongly held for credit, or the books don't reconcile, this person finds the cause, whether it's in SAP, a connected system or a payment provider, and fixes it. They do the hands-on setup work themselves rather than only managing projects.

Key Responsibilities

The original spec's 60+ bullets fall into five areas.

• Own SAP Finance (FICO). Design, configure, test and support SAP finance and accounting functions: general ledger, receivables, payables, cost accounting, tax and month-end close. Reduce manual journal entries, spreadsheets and offline reconciliations.
• Run Accounts Receivable and Credit Management. Set up and support customer credit limits, credit checks and order holds, plus high-volume cash application (matching customer payments to invoices), collections, deductions, chargebacks and write-offs across wholesale, retail and online channels.
• Own digital payments. Manage SAP's Digital Payments Add-On and its connections to payment providers (for example Adyen, Stripe, Worldpay) and banks. Cover the full card payment lifecycle: authorize, capture, settle, refund and reconcile, in line with PCI and security rules.
• Troubleshoot integrations. Work with integration, development and e-commerce teams to find and fix problems between SAP and connected systems: online store, point of sale, banks, tax engines and EDI. Write functional specifications and keep custom development to a minimum.
• Deliver and govern. Lead requirements, design, testing and go-live for finance changes. Support month-end close, maintain documentation, meet SOX and audit controls, and mentor junior analysts.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP experience, mostly hands-on configuration of SAP Finance (FICO), not primarily project management
• SAP S/4HANA experience, including at least two full implementations or major upgrades
• Hands-on setup of Accounts Receivable and Credit Management, including high-volume cash application
• Experience with SAP Digital Payments Add-On and at least one payment provider integration
• Background in retail, consumer products, fashion, luxury or another high-volume sales environment
• Strong grasp of accounting controls, reconciliation and month-end close
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Clear communicator with finance leaders, business users and technical teams
