Job description

SAP PRICING/INPUT ANALYST THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced SAP Pricing/Input Analyst to support the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of pricing and related input data across the Sciens enterprise. This role is primarily administrative and detail-oriented, ensuring that supplier price books, standard parts pricing, one-off pricing requests, and other approved inputs are correctly prepared, validated, maintained, and communicated for use in SAP, SAP CPQ, estimating, purchasing, and related business processes. The SAP Pricing/Input Analyst will work closely with procurement, finance, sales, estimating, operations, SAP master-data teams, Division stakeholders, and suppliers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with large volumes of data, and able to follow defined processes, while identifying discrepancies and escalating issues quickly. This role supports Sciens’ continued effort to standardize pricing practices and improve data quality across all Divisions nationwide.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
Pricing and Input Administration
  • Maintain accurate and current supplier price books, standard parts pricing, labor-related pricing inputs, and other approved pricing data used by Sciens Divisions.
  • Receive, organize, review, and prepare pricing updates for entry or upload into SAP and related systems.
  • Process one-off parts and pricing requests in accordance with established approval and documentation requirements.
  • Validate pricing inputs against supplier information, approved price books, effective dates, part numbers, descriptions, units of measure, and other required fields.
  • Track manufacturer and supplier pricing changes, discontinued items, new items, substitutions, and other updates that may affect estimating or purchasing.
  • Confirm that pricing changes are complete, accurate, appropriately supported, and ready for ERP-team processing.
SAP and Data Quality Support
  • Enter, maintain, and support pricing-related master data in SAP, SAP CPQ, or designated input templates and repositories.
  • Perform data-quality reviews to identify missing, duplicate, inconsistent, outdated, or incorrectly formatted pricing records.
  • Reconcile system pricing to supplier price books and approved source documentation; research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain clear audit trails and documentation for pricing changes, approvals, effective dates, and follow-up items.
  • Coordinate with SAP master-data and ERP teams to submit approved updates and confirm successful processing.
  • Support data loads, testing, validation, and post-update reviews during SAP enhancements, releases, and Divisional go-lives.
Cross-Functional and Division Support
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for Divisions and internal stakeholders regarding pricing inputs, data requirements, and update status.
  • Partner with Sciens procurement and suppliers to obtain current price books, pricing notices, product information, and supporting documentation.
  • Work with sales, estimating, finance, operations, and purchasing to understand how pricing data is used and identify downstream impacts.
  • Respond to questions and research pricing-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Help communicate standardized procedures and reinforce consistent pricing-input practices across Sciens Divisions.
  • Prepare routine status reports, issue logs, reconciliation summaries, and other reporting requested by management.
Process Improvement and Compliance
  • Follow Sciens policies, procedures, internal controls, approval requirements, and data-governance standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing-input workflows, templates, controls, documentation, and reporting.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and job aids for pricing administration.
  • Recommend practical process improvements that increase accuracy, reduce rework, and improve turnaround time.
  • Protect confidential supplier, pricing, financial, and company information.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain, information systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Three to five years of experience in pricing administration, master data, purchasing, procurement operations, ERP support, data analysis, or a related function.
  • Experience working with SAP, SAP CPQ, another ERP system, or structured pricing/master-data processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, lookups, formulas, data validation, and reconciliation of large data sets.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and manage repetitive, detail-sensitive work with a high degree of consistency.
  • Ability to review source documentation, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and follow issues through resolution.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Positive, service-oriented approach and willingness to support stakeholders across a growing national organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience maintaining supplier price books, parts catalogs, material masters, labor rates, or similar commercial data.
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA, SAP CPQ, SAP Ariba, SAP Materials Management, or related SAP processes.
  • Familiarity with purchasing, inventory, estimating, pricing, or procure-to-pay processes.
  • Experience with data-load templates, SAP Migration Cockpit, reporting tools, or data-governance practices.
  • Experience in the fire and life-safety, construction, service, distribution, or other multi-Division environment.
  • SAP certification or formal training in supply chain, procurement, finance, or data management.
