Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a National Manager – Inventory & Warehousing to lead inventory management, warehousing operations, and related systems across the organization. You will establish standards, optimize stock, and drive efficiency while coordinating with Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Sales to ensure availability and cost control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in SCM, Logistics, Business Admin, or related field.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or operations.
  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience.
  • Experience managing multiple warehouse locations or national/multi-site operation.
  • Experience with SAP and Procore systems.
  • Advanced inventory management knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a national inventory management strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish inventory policies, procedures, controls, and performance standards across all locations.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through cycle counting, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor inventory levels, turns, aging, obsolete stock, excess inventory, and stock shortages.
  • Establish appropriate inventory targets, safety-stock levels, and replenishment practices.
  • Partner with Procurement and Operations to improve inventory availability and working-capital performance.
  • Identify and reduce inventory variances, shrinkage, damage, and write-offs.
  • Ensure appropriate controls for serialized, lot-controlled, regulated, or high-value inventory where applicable.
  • Improve warehouse productivity, space utilization, labor efficiency, and throughput.
  • Establish consistent warehouse operating standards and best practices across all locations.
  • Evaluate warehouse capacity requirements and support decisions regarding expansion, consolidation, relocation, or third-party warehousing.
  • Ensure appropriate equipment, technology, staffing, and infrastructure are available to meet operational requirements.
  • Lead the effective use of ERP, inventory management, and related technology systems.
  • Improve system accuracy and ensure transactions are completed correctly and on time.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, scanning, barcode/RFID technology, reporting, and data analytics.
  • Partner with IT and business teams on system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process improvements.
  • Establish national KPIs and dashboards for inventory and warehouse performance.
  • Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other appropriate methodologies.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for recurring operational issues.
  • Benchmark warehouse and inventory performance across locations and share best practices.
  • Ensure all warehouse and inventory operations comply with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.
  • Establish controls to minimize inventory loss, theft, damage, and operational risk.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, audit controls, and inventory records are maintained.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, warehouse service providers, and other operational vendors.
  • Establish service-level expectations, KPIs, and performance reviews.
  • Negotiate and manage service agreements in partnership with Procurement and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor vendor performance, costs, quality, and compliance.

NATIONAL MANAGER – INVENTORY & WAREHOUSING THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is looking for a National Manager – Inventory & Warehousing.

This postion is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organization's inventory and warehousing activities across all national locations. This position will establish and maintain consistent inventory and warehouse standards, optimize inventory levels and warehouse capacity, improve operational efficiency, ensure inventory accuracy, control costs, and develop high-performing teams. The role will work closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Finance, Sales, Transportation, and other business functions to ensure the right inventory is available at the right location and time while minimizing excess inventory, shortages, and operating costs.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
National Inventory Management
  • Develop and implement a national inventory management strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish inventory policies, procedures, controls, and performance standards across all locations.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent are an advantage.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or operations.
  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple warehouse locations or a national/multi-site operation.
  • Experience managing significant inventory volumes and operational budgets.
  • Experience with SAP and Procore systems.
  • Experience leading process improvement and operational transformation initiatives.
  • Advanced inventory management knowledge.
