Job summary

PamTen Inc. in Fremont, CA seeks a strong SAP MM Architect with S/4HANA and deep Material Master expertise. This is an architecture and solution-design role focused on enterprise-wide Material Master and its integration with PLM and downstream systems.

The candidate will lead end-to-end impact analysis, define data-models, and guide cross-functional teams including SAP, PLM, and manufacturing to implement best-practice Material Master solutions in an on-site setting.

Job description

We are looking for a strong SAP MM Architect with S/4HANA experience and deep Material Master expertise and experience working across PLM, Manufacturing, Semiconductor, or High-Tech Industrial environments.

This is a solution architecture and functional leadership role focused on enterprise-wide Material Master architecture, business-process impact, integrations, and solution design.

Title: SAP MM Architect with S/4HANA experience

Location: Fremont, CA (Onsite and need to be local)

Primary Objective: The resource will be responsible for providing solution architecture and functional leadership for Material Master across the enterprise. The person must understand how Material Master impacts end-to-end business processes and be able to assess the downstream impact of any business, process, data-model, or system change.

This is primarily an architecture and solution-design role, not a data migration or pure SAP MDG role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and provide solution architecture for SAP Material Master in an SAP S/4HANA environment.
• Have strong end-to-end understanding of Material Master and its impact across:
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
  • Order-to-Cash (O2C)
  • Source-to-Pay / Sourcing
  • Manufacturing
  • Planning/MRP
  • Inventory Management
  • Supply Chain
  • Finance and other downstream processes
• Analyze new business requirements and immediately determine:
  • What changes are required to Material Master.
  • Which business processes will be impacted.
  • Which applications/interfaces will be affected.
  • What downstream dependencies exist.
  • What architectural changes are required.
  • Define and evaluate Material Master data models, processes, integrations, and interfaces.
  • Assess the enterprise-wide impact before approving or recommending architectural changes.
  • Understand Material Master integration with PLM systems, particularly Teamcenter or similar PLM platforms.
  • Understand how Material Master data flows from PLM to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Analyze integration architecture, interfaces, data flows, and potential challenges between PLM and SAP.
  • Work with SAP, PLM, business, integration, and application teams to identify the appropriate solution.
  • Provide architectural guidance and best-practice recommendations to business and technical teams.
  • Support implementation teams by translating business requirements into practical SAP Material Master solutions.Help establish and standardize Material Master governance and operating processes as part of the centralized data organization.
  • Work directly with existing business users to improve their understanding and usage of Material Master.
  • Train and educate business users on Material Master processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide technical/functional leadership while helping the organization move toward a centralized Material Master operating model.

Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills:

SAP:

• Strong SAP MM experience.
• Strong SAP S/4HANA experience.
• Deep expertise in Material Master.
• Strong understanding of Material Master configuration, data model, processes, and dependencies.
• Ability to perform end-to-end impact analysis for Material Master changes.
• Strong understanding of SAP integration with other enterprise applications.

PLM / Integration:

• Experience working with PLM systems.
• Understanding of PLM-to-SAP Material Master integration.
• Teamcenter experience is highly desirable, but Teamcenter is not mandatory.
• Ability to understand data/interface flows between PLM and SAP.
• Experience analyzing integration points, interfaces, data mapping, and integration challenges.
• Solution architecture experience rather than only functional execution.
• Ability to understand the enterprise-wide impact of architectural decisions.
• Experience defining solution options and recommending the appropriate architecture.
• Ability to connect business requirements, Material Master, SAP, PLM, and downstream systems.
