Job summary

Gestamp in Michigan seeks a Material Analyst to manage material flow and supplier coordination. You will analyze customer releases in SAP, cascade requirements to suppliers, and maintain lean inventory while collaborating across departments to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience.
• Experience with SAP and materials management.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
• Knowledge of lean inventory and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer releases in SAP and cascade requirements down to suppliers to ensure proper material flow and lean inventory.
• Coordinate information between customer releases, Inventory Control, and suppliers to minimize expedite requirements.
• Manage required expedites to ensure proper coverage due to inventory loss, customer release increases, bank builds, etc.
• Monitor and track the status of material, including past due, and elevate issues to the MP&L Manager regarding material availability as required.
• Collaborate on cross-functional job tasks with other departments to ensure proper material flow between the departments.
• Work closely with SAP Master User and Production Planner/Scheduler to plan, communicate, and release to suppliers via SAP.
• Assist with the set-up of new programs and the end of life for programs coming to a close by assisting with forecasts and supplier evaluations.
• Assist in writing, reviewing, and/or implementing procedures and work instructions when applicable to the job role.
• Collaborate with other MP&L team members to assist in bettering work practices and escalates improvement ideas to the MP&L Manager.
• Participate in internal and external audits, including but not limited to Quality Audits, Customer Audits, and Customer qualification audits such as Q1, IATF.
