Overview

The Transformation team is on a mission to improve both our customer and employee experience by transforming how we plan, buy, make, and distribute products in Waters Global Operations. Our four pillars of focus include: Strategy, Processes and Systems, Continuous Improvement, and Insights.

As the SAP IBP Analyst you will serve as the hands‑on subject‑matter expert responsible for configuring, integrating, and continuously improving the SAP IBP platform across demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, and inventory optimization. Drawing on deep experience from prior full‑lifecycle IBP implementations and a strong IT and supply chain systems background, you will translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, partner closely with functional leads and external implementation partners, and ensure the platform delivers reliable, scalable planning capabilities across the Waters global network.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical and functional SME for SAP IBP, supporting the configuration of planning areas, planning levels, key figures, attributes, time profiles, and version management
  • Design, build, and maintain IBP planning models supporting demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, and response & supply as needed
  • Develop and maintain Excel and Web UI planning views, dashboards, analytics, alerts, and custom calculations to support planner workflows
  • Partner with external implementation partners on solution design, configuration reviews, cutover planning, hypercare, and post‑go‑live stabilization
  • Support all phases of the implementation lifecycle: requirements gathering, fit‑gap analysis, blueprinting, configuration, data migration, integration testing, UAT, training, cutover, and hypercare
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications; document configuration, integration designs, and operating procedures
  • Support team to investigate and resolve incidents, performance issues, and data quality defects; perform root‑cause analysis and drive permanent fixes
  • Support on the creation of training materials and provide ongoing knowledge transfer to planners and key users
  • Continuously identify opportunities to leverage new IBP features and releases (quarterly updates) to improve planning processes and user experience
  • Collaborate with enterprise IT, security, and architecture teams to ensure IBP solutions adhere to standards for integration, identity, and change management
Qualifications
  • 10-15 years experience overall with 5+ years of hands‑on SAP IBP experience, with demonstrable involvement in at least 1-3 full‑lifecycle IBP implementations from blueprint through hypercare
  • Deep configuration expertise across two or more IBP modules: Demand, Sales & Operations Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization, and/or Response & Supply
  • Strong working knowledge of IBP planning area design: attributes, master data types, key figures, calculations, levels, time profiles, and copy operators
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP IBP integration tooling, including CI-DS, RTI, and SAP Cloud Integration (CPI); able to design, build, and troubleshoot integration flows
  • Proficiency with SQL, ABAP debugging, HANA modeling concepts, and the IBP Excel add‑in and Web UI
  • Experience supporting IBP quarterly release cycles, including regression testing, feature evaluation, and adoption planning
  • Experience working with external SI partners and managing technical deliverables, configuration reviews, and cutover activities
  • Track record of producing clear technical documentation: functional specs, configuration workbooks and integration designs
  • Effective communicator across both technical and business audiences; able to translate planner pain points into system solutions
  • Agile and responsive, comfortable handling multiple priorities, acting with urgency, and managing ambiguity
  • Customer‑centric, with a track record of investing time in understanding planner and key‑user requirements
  • SAP IBP certification a plus
  • Experience with Celonis, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or Power BI in a supply chain context a plus
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. Master’s Degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
