- Identify accounts currently configured for OIM and determine whether configuration aligns with the underlying accounting purpose and transaction lifecycle.
- Identify accounts that should be OIM-enabled but are not, as well as accounts where OIM is enabled unnecessarily or inconsistently.
- Assess aged open items, historical postings, residual balances, account usage, clearing practices, and dependencies that may affect conversion or remediation.
- Evaluate the current foreign currency revaluation population, account eligibility, valuation treatment, posting logic, and company-code or ledger differences.
- Document downstream impacts to close processes, reconciliations, interfaces, automated postings, reporting, and controls.
Essential Functions Of The Job
- Develop a standardized global OIM framework defining account eligibility, clearing expectations, monitoring requirements, exceptions, and the governance framework to be transitioned to internal owners.
- Develop a standardized foreign currency revaluation framework defining eligible accounts, currencies, valuation methods, posting treatment, ledger considerations, and exception handling.
- Establish clear rules linking the accounting purpose of each GL account to required SAP master-data attributes and process behavior.
- Design global standards that can be consistently applied across company codes while identifying legitimate statutory or business exceptions.
- Partner with Accounting, Consolidations, Treasury, Tax, regional controllers, Shared Services, and Finance Systems to validate the target design.
SAP Implementation
- Translate approved accounting and process requirements into executable SAP S/4HANA master data and configuration changes.
- Define and execute GL master-data remediation across applicable company codes, including controlled mass maintenance where appropriate.
- Develop remediation strategies for accounts where historical open items or posting history prevent immediate OIM conversion.
- Configure or coordinate foreign currency valuation/revaluation settings required to support the approved future-state process.
- Evaluate ledger-specific requirements and coordinate SAP technical resources for configuration, transports, integrations, or other system changes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all approved master-data and configuration changes.
Education/Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, SAP implementation, or related fields.
