Job summary

Precision Drilling Corporation seeks an experienced SAP Functional Analyst to join the SAP Operations/IT Business System team, focusing on SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Plant Maintenance (PM). The role involves collaboration across modules to support business operations, process design, and solution sustainment.

Responsibilities include configuring, testing, and upgrading SAP solutions, managing security access, and producing functional specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent with 5+ years SAP Functional Analyst experience.
• 5+ years SAP Functional Analyst experience; oil and gas experience is an asset.
• 3+ full lifecycle SAP implementations, preferably S/4HANA, with strong process design knowledge.
• Strong technical, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to explain solutions to business users and deliver timely updates.

Responsibilities

• Acts as SME for SAP Plant Maintenance and supports additional SAP modules (MM, EAM, SD, EHS, MOC).
• Understand integration points with EAM, FI, CO, PM, and ABAP/FIORI/Security/Reporting.
• Performs application configuration and maintenance by meeting with users to determine requirements.
• Develops and maintains relationships with process owners and IT team members.
• Designs, configures, upgrades, and tests SAP solutions.
• Determines security access needs and coordinates with SAP Security.
• Prepares detailed functional specs and documentation translating requirements into design and overseeing development.
• Assists in communications, training, and job aids to support change management.

This role is within the SAP Operations/IT Business System team and is responsible for all SAP processes and system modules that support business operations. This role requires skills in business analysis, process design, system solutioning, implementation, functional specifications, and sustainment of SAP solutions to help Precision achieve its High Performance / High Value goals. This role will be heavily focused on ongoing improvements, expansion initiatives, monthly releases, and production support.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Acts as subject matter expert for primarily the SAP Plant Maintenance module and supports additional modules of SAP Operations such as Materials Management, Enterprise Asset Management, Sales & Distribution, Environmental Health and Safety, Management of Change, and other in-house drilling modules
• Understand the integration points to other SAP modules such as EAM, FI, CO, PM, and technical areas of ABAP, FIORI, Security, Reporting, etc.
• Performs the application configuration and maintenance by conducting meetings with users to determine system requirements
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with business process owners, business users, and IT team members
• Designs, configures, upgrades, and tests solutions
• Determines security access needs and translates to authorization requirements provided to the SAP Security team
• Prepares detailed functional specifications and other documentation, which translate the business requirements into functional design and oversees development aspects of the proposed solution
• Assist in the development of communications, training, and job aids to support change management activities for any projects or initiatives

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or relevant work experience, plus 5+ years as an SAP Functional Analyst; and oil and gas experience is an asset
• Strong SAP knowledge, configuration expertise in SAP PM and/or SD, and proven understanding of core module integration
• 3+ full lifecycle SAP implementations, preferably S/4HANA, with solid business process design knowledge and a detail-oriented focus on delivery, accuracy, and quality
• Strong technical, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to build relationships, explain solutions clearly to business users, and provide honest, timely updates
• Adaptable, customer-focused team player with service-oriented collaboration experience, a passion for improving Operations processes, and a willingness to learn and share knowledge
