Job Summary

The SAP Architect is responsible for leading the end-to-end architecture and solution design for Excise Tax, Tariffs, Duties, and SAP ETDP within a large-scale, global Oil & Gas implementation.

This role serves as the primary solution owner and subject matter expert for excise tax processing, ensuring cross-regional compliance with a strong emphasis on European TDP requirements.

The architect collaborates closely with functional, technical, and business teams to drive design, configuration, integration, and governance across SAP modules and tax-related processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall SAP ETDP and Excise Tax architecture for a global Oil & Gas implementation.
• Design and oversee excise tax, tariff, and duties processes across multiple regions.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for ETDP functions including excise movement control, tax calculation, reporting, and compliance.
• Own solution design, architecture documentation, and technical governance.
• Collaborate with SAP functional teams (SD, MM, FI), tax and compliance stakeholders, and integration/development teams.
• Drive ETDP configuration and integration with SAP S/4HANA, Global Trade (GTS), and Finance/Logistics modules.
• Ensure compliance with European excise regulations, including EMCS, movement types, and tax warehouse processes.
• Support testing, defect resolution, deployment readiness, and cutover activities.
• Provide guidance to offshore and onshore teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in workshops and client discussions as the recognized ETDP authority.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on SAP experience with a strong focus on Excise Tax and ETDP.
• Mandatory experience working directly with SAP ETDP (Excise Tax Data Processing).
• Proven experience supporting large-scale, global SAP implementations.
• Strong knowledge of excise duties, tariffs, tax compliance, and Oil & Gas industry tax flows.
• Deep expertise in European TDP and excise regulatory processes.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and integration across FI, MM, and SD modules.
• Strong understanding of cross-border movement, duty suspension, excise reporting, and audits.
• Experience working with global delivery and distributed team models.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in global Oil & Gas tax operations or similar regulatory environments.
• Experience supporting multi-region excise tax compliance solutions.
• Exposure to SAP GTS or other trade compliance tools.
