Job summary

Utah Sanitation is seeking a Sanitor II in Pleasant View, UT to support the sanitation and food safety program in a fast-paced plant environment. You will perform cleaning, CIP, SSOPs, and training while ensuring compliance with MSS, FDA, and OSHA requirements.

Qualified candidates have 2-3 years in a food plant, QI training or willingness to complete, and solid knowledge of cleaning sequences and chemical usage. This is a full-time hourly role with strong safety expectations.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years in a food plant as a sanitor cleaning equipment/machines.
• QI trained; willing to complete training.
• Intermediate knowledge of pre-rinse/wash/rinse/sanitize steps.
• Intermediate knowledge of top-down washing sequence for proper food safety.
• Intermediate knowledge of the 7 steps to proper food plant sanitation.
• Intermediate knowledge of chemical usage for sanitation and titrations.
• Knowledge and understanding of MSS.
• Basic CIP knowledge.
• Intermediate knowledge of lockout/tagout programs and proper usage.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Ability to problem-solve.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team.
• Ability to train others and direct a team to finish a project.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic machine disassembly/setup for cleaning.
• Complete all cleaning tasks per SSOPs.
• Run basic CIP for cleaning; document MSS projects.
• Clean plant lines properly per SSOPs; pass pre-ops.
• Follow intensified cleaning procedures as stated.
• Perform pre-ops on machines, including ATP swabs.
• Recognize and address equipment needing deep cleaning and notify proper departments.
• Train Sanitors/Production on sanitation and SSOPs.
• Train others on chemical usage.
• Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns.

Salary Range: $18.80 To $21.00 Hourly

Job Purpose

Support the Company's sanitation food safety program by focusing on proper cleaning and sanitizing of plant equipment and building in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies, FDA and OSHA regulations.

Essential Functions

• Perform basic machine disassembly/setup for cleaning (e.g., covers, piping, cover electrical with plastic)
• Complete all cleaning tasks per SSOPs
• Run basic CIP for cleaning Complete MSS projects and document accordingly
• Clean all plant lines properly per SSOPs; complete cleaning on time and pass pre-ops
• Follow intensified cleaning procedures as stated
• Perform pre-ops on machines, including use of ATP swabs
• Recognize and address equipment needing deep cleaning, notify proper departments, and ensure areas are cleaned
• Train Sanitors/Production on proper cleaning of lines using the 7 steps to proper food plant sanitation and SSOPs
• Train others on proper chemical usageTitrate chemicals
• Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel
• Comply with all employee safety/food safety requirements, training, policies, and proceduresPerform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education/Experience)
