Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a sanitation-focused team member to perform daily cleaning across processing equipment in a safe, GMP-driven environment. The role emphasizes adherence to USDA and safety regulations and supports efficient production.

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, basic math and communication skills, and sanitation/machine operation experience. This on-site position includes lifting and equipment handling as part of daily duties.

  • Clean equipment: RMC, cooker and cooker parts, fines savers, DMM and other items to be cleaned.
  • Animal feed accountability.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and neat work area.
  • Refer to Physical Demands for weight requirements.
  • All other assigned duties.

SUMMARY

Sanitation is vital to efficient and high-quality production. This position involves daily cleaning of RMC’s, cooker and cooker parts, fines savers, DMM and any other equipment or parts that may need cleaning. Always adheres to all USDA, GMP and safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Work in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Follow and understand the “Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures”
  • Keep accurate and correct records
  • Clean the following equipment: RMC , cooker and cooker parts, fines savers, DMM and any other equipment or parts that may need cleaning
  • Animal feed accountability
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and neat work area
  • See Physical Demands for weight requirements
  • All other assigned duties
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Must understand chemicals and chemical safety
  • Must be able to check chemical concentrations.
  • Must know how to stop and start all equipment that will be cleaned.
  • Must know how to disassemble and reassemble all equipment that will be cleaned.
  • Must work in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures including use of safety equipment.
  • Must be Forklift Certified
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous sanitation and machine operator experience. Possess basic math and communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and squat for several minutes at a time.
  • Must be able to stand on feet for at least a two hour consecutive time period
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Must be able to enter into confined spaces
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
  • Employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. Environment is occasionally damp and cold. Caustic, acid, and chlorine chemicals will be used and may emit fumes into the air. Floors may be wet and slippery. Room temperatures will range from 35 degrees F. to an excess of 130 degrees F. The use of safety glasses, ear plugs, dust masks, rubber gloves, rubber boots and aprons are all necessary in this area.

Hourly Range: $31.60-$37.23
