Job summary

Pilgrim's Pride Corp. in Alabama is seeking sanitation workers to clean and sanitize production areas and machines in preparation for operation of food products. Pay is $22.50 per hour (including incentive) on the 2nd shift, with 2nd Processing 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. and 1st Processing 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. shifts available; applicants must lift 40 lbs, endure fast pace, stand long hours, and complete Safety Training including LOTO, Food Safety/GMP and related courses.

2nd Processing 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but not limited to the following:

Sanitation workers are responsible for disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembling production machines, as well as cleaning and sanitizing production areas. It is mandatory to complete Safety Training, including but not limited to LOTO, Food Safety/GMP training, Chemical training, and any other training deemed necessary to become qualified to complete required job duties. Can be assigned other duties as needed.

Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Must be able to work overtime as assigned.

Must be able to work in a refrigerated/cold and/or hot environments, with temperatures ranging from 10 degrees to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities

and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak

simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
