Job summary

ILS Gummies, LLC is seeking a hardworking sanitation worker for our McKinney, TX plant. You will clean production areas and sanitize equipment in a washroom environment to maintain product safety and quality.

The role requires familiarity with cleaning chemicals, the ability to follow schedules, and teamwork or independent work. High school diploma and 1 year sanitation experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of sanitation experience in food safety/industrial setting preferred.
  • Must read, write and speak English.
  • Able to work alone or with a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Direct cleaning and sanitizing of production areas and equipment.

Job description

Our gummy manufacturing plant is looking for a hardworking sanitation worker. You will be responsible for cleanliness of general food production areas and cleaning of the manufacturing equipment within a washroom environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Knows and understands the operation and function of all sanitation cleaning equipment.
  • Direct cleaning and sanitizing of production areas, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Knows the purpose and usage rate of all sanitizers and chemical solutions.
  • Follow a schedule provided for an assigned area and complete daily duties.
  • Understands the operation and function of plant waste removal equipment.
  • Sanitize doors, glass, and windows in entrances and all assigned areas.
  • Remove collected trash and recycling materials daily.
  • Monitor/inspect assigned areas while cleaning and turn in any maintenance requests to the working lead or manager.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is kept clean and in good working condition; ensure all cleaning tools/accessories are with equipment; report malfunctioning equipment to working lead and/or manager immediately.
  • Maintain sanitation storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Monitor and submit supply orders; always maintain adequate quantities of cleaning supplies at all times.
  • Comply with standing instructions provided by cleaning schedules, safety rules, and regulations for personal protection; ensure all chemicals are properly labeled; clean bodily fluids or other hazardous materials following proper safety procedures.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Previous manufacturing equipment cleaning experience.
  • General knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, and techniques for cleaning.
  • Ability to follow verbal directions.
  • Ability to work well alone and with a partner or team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a dedicated professionalism to job and duties.
  • Able to adapt to changing schedules or routines, excellent time management skills.
  • Pay attention to detail when cleaning.
  • Must be organized and able to follow a schedule.
  • Must be willing to abide by ILS policies and procedures, including those that are safety-related.
  • Self-motivated individual willing to work hard, able to work in a group and alone, and be quality conscious.
  • Demonstrates a professional, team first attitude toward work and co-workers.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking of English.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • One (1) year of sanitation experience in the food safety/industrial sanitation environment (Highly Preferred).
  • Previous manufacturing experience (Highly Preferred).
  • General knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, and techniques for cleaning.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing work environment. Constant physical activities are required for this position. Able to tolerate working environment with inside hot and cold temperatures. Work environment requires use of appropriate GMP including safety goggles, gloves, shoe covers, hairnets and beard nets, masks, and smocks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Activities include ability to reach overhead, squat, and bend at the waist; the ability to lift to 50 pounds or more; ability to climb up and down stairs throughout a shift; tolerance of standing posture continuously during shift; intense walking is involved. Dexterity for manipulating work materials; repetitive motion; proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to respond to safety signals, such as those generated by forklifts.
