Job summary

Required are a High school diploma or GED, one year of truck driving experience, and a valid South Carolina Class B CDL. The role involves lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of side loading sanitation truck operation and safety practices.
• Ability to operate routes and follow department policies and procedures.
• Experience with heavy lifting and using hand tools.
• Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance and operate a pressure washer.

Responsibilities

• Operates the side loading sanitation vehicle and automated debris collection equipment.
• Maintains sanitation vehicle with daily checks and reports mechanical problems.
• Monitors hours and mileage and coordinates preventive maintenance.
• Performs routine cleaning of vehicles and tools; pressure washing.
• Provides leadership to co-workers in the field.
• Serves as back up to co-workers picking up refuse.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
