Job summary

Principe Foods in Columbia, MO is seeking Sanitors to verify that work areas and machinery meet USDA sanitary standards before each production day. The role requires self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include sanitizing equipment, guiding cleaning personnel, testing rooms for contaminants, and reporting any unsafe conditions. You will support HACCP processes and training to ensure consistent compliance with safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret and analyze general business periodicals, journals, procedures or regulations.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and stakeholders.
• Ability to apply common sense in following written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to handle problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English and interact with all levels.
• Ability to enter data with intermediate skills in Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize all equipment and ensure cleanup meets standards before production starts.
• Oversee cleaning personnel and coordinate areas needing re-cleaning.
• Ensure machinery is clean and follow proper procedures; work as a team for corrections.
• Report unsafe overnight conditions to supervisors and QA.
• Apply sanitizer where needed to drainage areas and shared spaces.
• Verify rooms are ready for operation, with no condensation or standing water.
• Test areas and equipment for contaminants at specified stages in sanitation.
• Analyze information, conduct tests, and communicate findings to QA lead and management.
• Support HACCP education, testing, and auditing processes regularly.
• Assist in training new/back-up staff in Pre-Op, Sanitation and QA.
• Promote teamwork and resolve conflicts while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Perform routine maintenance and notify leads of malfunctioning equipment.
