Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, LLC seeks a Sanitation Technician for our High Street facility in Hanover, PA. The role supports food safety and quality by keeping production areas, equipment, and packaging lines clean and compliant with USDA and FDA standards.

Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–4:00 PM with Saturdays as needed. Responsibilities include end-of-cycle cleaning, cross-facility cleaning, and operating cleaning equipment, with safety procedures such as Lock Out Tag Out and chemical handling.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high food-safety standards.
• Reliable, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs during shifts.
• Capable of safely operating cleaning equipment and following safety procedures.
• Experience in USDA-regulated facilities is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all packaging, processing, cleanup activities to maintain clean, safe equipment and facilities.
• Cycle-ending cleanup includes fryer boil outs, caustic cleanups, acid rinses, and oil treatment tasks.
• Work across Campus production facilities to clean areas of respective packaging rooms as needed.
• Adhere to Lock Out Tag Out procedures and proper chemical disbursement, safe handling of chemicals.
• Operate high reach and forklift with current license and use cleaning tools to maintain surfaces.

At Utz Quality Foods, our team of Sanitation Technicians is the first line of defense in ensuring the food safety and quality of our products. Join our dedicated team in our High Street facility in Hanover PA. Working Monday-Friday 6:00AM- 4:00PM and Saturdays as needed, helping maintain the high standards that make Utz a trusted name in food.

We're looking for hardworking, reliable individuals who take pride in their work and are committed to keeping our manufacturing facility and production equipment clean, safe, and compliant with USDA and FDA regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in all packaging, processing, auxiliary plant item cleanup, and production cycle-ending cleanup activities to maintain , clean, and safeguard equipment and facilities.
  • Cycle-ending cleanup includes fryer boil outs, caustic cleanups, acid rinses, filling in for daily processing cleanup duties, and oil treatment tasks.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work across other Campus production facilities to clean all areas ofrespectivepackaging rooms, as needed.
• Demonstrate working knowledge—and be approved by Sanitation Leadership—in the following areas:
  • Lock Out Tag Out procedures and proper chemical disbursement
  • Safe handling of both mild and harsh chemicals
  • Operation of High Reach and Forklift with current license
  • Working on elevated surfaces, comfort with heights, and ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Certification to operate all can washers and boil out a minimum number of equipment pieces to support production cycle and cleanup
• Use air wands, high-pressure rinse, cleaning chemicals, hand cleaning, squeegees, and motorized sweepers to maintain all surfaces and equipment
• Remove all waste anddispose ofit in the appropriate container ; return all tables, mats, hoses, and cleaning equipment to their proper positions
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest food safety and sanitation standards.
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift and lift up to 50lbs regularly.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to clean areas on production machines.
• Capability to safely operate cleaning equipment and follow all safety procedures.
• Dedication to maintaining Utz’s commitment to quality and safety.
• Experience working in a USDA-regulated facility is a plus but not required.
• Ability to comfortably wear and work with various forms of PPE.
• A strong team player who can also work independently to meet production goals.
