Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA, seeks a Sanitation Technician to keep our manufacturing facility clean, safe, and compliant with USDA and FDA regulations. You will participate in packaging, processing, and end-of-cycle cleanup to safeguard equipment and product quality.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, handling chemicals, and maintaining surfaces while ensuring high standards of sanitation throughout production areas.

Qualifications

• Must uphold top food safety and sanitation standards.
• Reliable with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to stand/walk for entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to clean production equipment.
• Capable of operating cleaning equipment and following safety procedures.
• Experience in USDA-regulated facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in packaging, processing, and cleanup to safeguard equipment and facilities.
• Perform fryer boil outs, caustic cleaning, acid rinses, and oil treatment as part of cycle-ending cleanup.
• Support cleaning across campus production areas and packaging rooms as needed.
• Operate High Reach and Forklift with current license.
• Use air wands, high-pressure rinse, cleaning chemicals, and hand cleaning to sanitize surfaces.
• Dispose of waste properly and return equipment to proper positions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

At Utz Quality Foods, our team of Sanitation Technicians is the first line of defense in ensuring the food safety and quality of our products. Join our dedicated team in our High Street facility in Hanover PA. Working Monday-Friday 6:00AM- 4:00PM and Saturdays as needed, helping maintain the high standards that make Utz a trusted name in food.

We’re looking for hardworking, reliable individuals who take pride in their work and are committed to keeping our manufacturing facility and production equipment clean, safe, and compliant with USDA and FDA regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in all packaging, processing, auxiliary plant item cleanup, and production cycle-ending cleanup activities tomaintain, clean, and safeguard equipment and facilities.
  • Cycle-ending cleanup includes fryer boil outs, caustic cleanups, acid rinses, filling in for daily processing cleanup duties, and oil treatment tasks.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work across other Campus production facilities to clean all areas ofrespectivepackaging rooms, as needed.
• Demonstrate working knowledge—and be approved by Sanitation Leadership—in the following areas:
  • Lock Out Tag Out procedures and proper chemical disbursement
  • Safe handling of both mild and harsh chemicals
  • Operation of High Reach and Forklift with current license
  • Working on elevated surfaces, comfort with heights, and ability to lift 50lbs
  • Certification tooperateall can washers and boil out a minimum number of equipment pieces to support production cycle and cleanup
• Use air wands, high-pressure rinse, cleaning chemicals, hand cleaning, squeegees, and motorized sweepers tomaintainall surfaces and equipment
• Remove all waste anddisposeofit in theappropriate container; return all tables, mats, hoses, and cleaning equipment to their proper positions
• Performadditionalduties as assigned

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest food safety and sanitation standards.
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift and lift up to 50lbs regularly.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to clean areas on production machines.
• Capability to safely operate cleaning equipment and follow all safety procedures.
• Dedication to maintaining Utz’s commitment to quality and safety.
• Experience working in a USDA-regulated facility is a plus but not required.
• Ability to comfortably wear and work with various forms of PPE.
• A strong team player who can also work independently to meet production goals.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Familiar with working in a USDA regulated facility
