Job summary

U.S. Waffle Company in Hazelwood, MO is seeking a Sanitation Technician to support operations on the 3rd shift. You will maintain clean, safe processing areas and prevent cross-contamination according to SQF, GMP, and SSOP standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong English skills, and a hands-on, self-directed work style. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with 40 hours per week and potential overtime to meet production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review production schedule and coordinate with planner and/or previous shift regarding scheduling, identifying potential difficulties in timing as required in order to meet production schedule.
  • Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment and processing facilities.
  • Prevent cross contamination of products, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
  • Follow all company Sanitation SOPs (SSOP) for cleaning equipment and facilities.
  • Perform pre- inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval.
  • Complete all required sanitation and SQF documentation.
  • Washes and maintains cleaning carts and tools.
  • Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foaming units, cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.

Position Profile

Cérélia's newly established Frozen Breakfast Business Unit - US Waffle - is driving an ambitious growth strategy, backed by two manufacturing facilities, Liberty, SC, and Hazelwood, MO. To effectively support the rapid scaling of operations at our state-of-the-art Hazelwood facility, US Waffle is seeking a dynamic and skilled Sanitation Technician to join our team in Hazelwood, MO.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review production schedule and coordinate with planner and/or previous shift regarding scheduling, identifying potential difficulties in timing as required in order to meet production schedule.
  • Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment and processing facilities.

  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
  • Adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies.
Health & Safety
  • Makes SAFETY a priority, while carrying out his /her daily activities.
  • Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.
  • Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SSOP.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing cleaning tasks.
  • Understands and follows all Lock Out Tag Out Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Reports any unsafe acts or conditions to immediate production superior.
  • Understands cleaning chemicals and their handling procedures.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and sanitary working environment always.
Qualifications

  • Required to work 3rd shift, though hours may change due to demand, including weekends, or holidays.
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the plant including walking, climbing stairs. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods within a maximum of up to 50 lbs.
Supervisor Responsibility
