Job summary

Proper Beverage Company in Kentwood, MI is hiring a Sanitation Technician II for our 3rd shift (Mon night–Fri night, 11:00 pm–7:30 am). You will independently perform routine and complex sanitation tasks to keep our production area clean and compliant with GMP, FDA, and OSHA standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of sanitation experience, a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of cleaning chemicals, ability to read SOPs, and the stamina to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, required.
• 1-2 years of sanitation experience in a food, beverage, or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation procedures, and equipment handling.
• Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct sanitation deficiencies.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Physically able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Physically able to work in wet or humid environments and around cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Sanitation Execution: Independently execute sanitation protocols for production equipment, machinery, and facility areas; Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment in accordance with SOPs; Accurately mix and use sanitation chemicals according to safety and usage guidelines.
• Monitoring & Compliance: Conduct routine inspections and identify sanitation issues or maintenance needs; Maintain accurate cleaning logs, checklists, and sanitation documentation; Escalate equipment malfunctions or deviations from cleaning standards; Support compliance with all regulatory standards including GMP, FDA, and OSHA.
• Team Support & Communication: Assist with training and onboarding of Sanitation Technician I team members; Provide input to improve sanitation procedures and workflows.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Description

As a Sanitation Technician II, you will be responsible for independently performing routine and complex sanitation tasks to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our production environment. In this role, you will follow established procedures, mentor junior team members, and help maintain compliance with food safety and quality standards. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will support efficient and hygienic operations. This is a full-time, 3rd shift position. The schedule is Monday night through Friday night from 11pm to 7:30pm.

Responsibilities
