Job summary

Mountaintop Beverage is seeking a Plant Sanitation Technician to uphold the highest sanitation standards in an aseptic beverage manufacturing facility. You will perform routine cleaning of walls, ceilings, floors and equipment, following the Master Cleaning Schedule and GMP/SQF guidelines.

The role requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain sanitation logs, and operate floor scrubbers and cleaning tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent accepted.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Experience with SQF and cGMP is a plus.
• Knowledge of HACCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of all areas per the Master Cleaning Schedule.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety policies.
• Maintain sanitation logs (paper and electronic).
• Clean interior and exterior facility areas and operate cleaning equipment.
• Work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering/Maintenance, and Quality staff.

Job description

Role Impact:

As part of an aseptic, beverage manufacturing facility the Plant Sanitation Technician will be critical to maintaining a clean and orderly production facility ensuring the highest quality standards of sanitization for food production.

In this role, the Plant Sanitation Technician will perform cross functional duties with personnel from all departments to provide overall plant sanitization duties such as cleaning walls, ceilings, floors, etc. as required by the Master Cleaning Schedule. The Plant Sanitation Technician will also be required to follow through on established daily cleaning requirements for the overall cleanliness of the facility to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO) and internal product quality standards.

Role Responsibilities

• Recognizes and provides cleaning and sanitizing needs for all areas of the facility as required.
• Ability to understand/follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Follows master sanitation schedule and responds to assigned work orders in a timely manner.
• Keeps and maintains neat and accurate sanitation logs both electronically and paper based.
• Responsible for daily interior facility cleaning/sanitation and custodial duties within production and non-production workspaces.
• Responsible for daily exterior facility sanitation and custodial duties.
• Responsible for maintaining and operating various floor scrubbers and other related equipment.
• Works cross functionally with Production, Engineering/Maintenance and Quality Personnel.
• Ensures all chemical containers are correctly labeled.
• Continuously maintain work areas to ensure cGMP and PMO compliance.
• Ensures all cleaning equipment is used, maintained, and stored appropriately.
• Ensure that pest control systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
• Assists/performs in Clean Out of Place (COP) procedures.
• Reports employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Assists with the inventory of required cleaning/sanitation items and reports to the appropriate individual for reorder.
• Works with Plant Sanitation Supervision to identify plant sanitization concerns.
• Responsible for adhering to all plant safety policies, along with all SQF and cGMP requirements.

Education

• Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and basic Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely work in elevated spaces requiring the use of a ladder or lift.
• Must be able to carry and lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for entire shift.
• Must be able to work 10/12-hour shift(s).
• May be required to work outside of scheduled shift to support business needs.
• Must follow cGMP policy- wear company issued shirt, hat, safety glasses, earplugs, and hairnet in production areas.
• Must be able to work with equipment that contains electromagnetic components.
