Job summary

Cérélia North America in Hazelwood, MO is seeking a Sanitation Technician to keep our state-of-the-art Hazelwood facility clean and compliant between production shifts. You will sanitize processing equipment and facilities, prevent cross-contamination, and follow SSOPs and GMPs to meet SQF and safety standards.

This full-time, 3rd-shift role requires English literacy, good communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

To effectively support the rapid scaling of operations at our state-of-the-art Hazelwood facility, US Waffle is seeking a dynamic and skilled Sanitation Technician to join our team in Hazelwood, MO. The Sanitation Technician is Responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing the plant quickly and efficiently during relatively short time periods between the plant’s normal production shifts. Clean and sanitize processing equipment and processing areas of the plant, to meet quality control and sanitation standards. Primary Responsibilities

• Review production schedule and coordinate with planner and/or previous shift regarding scheduling, identifying potential difficulties in timing as required in order to meet production schedule
• Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment and processing facilities.
• Prevent cross contamination of products, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
• Follow all company Sanitation SOPs (SSOP) for cleaning equipment and facilities
• Perform pre- inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval
• Complete all required sanitation and SQF documentation.
• Washes and maintains cleaning carts and tools
• Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foaming units, cleaning equipment and tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor

Quality Assurance

• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements
• Adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies

Health & Safety

• Makes SAFETY a priority, while carrying out his /her daily activities
• Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers
• Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SSOP.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing cleaning tasks
• Understands and follows all Lock Out Tag Out Standard Operating Procedures
• Reports any unsafe acts or conditions to immediate production superior
• Understands cleaning chemicals and their handling procedures
• Maintains a safe, clean, and sanitary working environment always

• Required to work 3rd shift, though hours may change due to demand, including weekends, or holidays.
• To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the plant including walking, climbing stairs. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods within a maximum of up to 50 lbs
