Job summary

Cérélia North America is seeking a dedicated sanitation associate to thoroughly clean and sanitize processing equipment and work areas between production shifts. You will ensure adherence to SQF, GMPs, and safety policies while maintaining sanitation documentation and equipment care.

The role requires following SSOPs, working a 3rd shift (with potential schedule changes), and lifting up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Sanitation experience preferred.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Self-directed with good communication skills.
• Follows GMPs and SSOPs.
• Able to use a step ladder.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize processing equipment and facilities.

Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing the plant quickly and efficiently during relatively short time periods between the plant's normal production shifts. Clean and sanitize processing equipment and processing areas of the plant, to meet quality control and sanitation standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment and processing facilities.

• Prevent cross contamination of product, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.

• Follow all company Sanitation SOPs(SSOP) for cleaning equipment and facility.

• Perform pre-inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval.

• Complete all required sanitation and SQF documentation.

• Washes and maintains cleaning carts and tools.

• Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foamers, cleaning equipment and tools.

• Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.

Quality Assurance

• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.

• Adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies.

Health & Safety

• Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.

• Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SSOP.

• Wear appropriate person protective equipment (PPE) while perform cleaning tasks.

Requirements

Education and/ or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

• Sanitation experience preferred.

• Must be able to follow instructions in English.

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

• Required to work 3rd shift, though hours may change due to demand, including weekends, or holidays.
