Job summary

Lyons Magnus, located in Westlake, Ohio, is seeking a Sanitation Technician to support sanitation functions on the master schedule and CIP cleaning. This in-house temp-to-hire role requires collaboration with operations, maintenance, and management to maintain a clean, safe production environment.

The position is 2nd or 3rd shift with weekend OT potential. Requires a high school diploma and 1+ year in related fields; GMP, HACCP familiarity and allergen awareness are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience preferred within related fields.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and allergens.

Responsibilities

• Performs equipment cleaning per CIP Sanitation SOPs.
• Performs plant cleaning as outlined by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintains general housekeeping in all areas of the plant.
• Disassembles/reassembles filters, screens and processing equipment.
• Handles and uses chemicals including acids, chlorines, caustics and quats.
• Tests and records chemical concentrations.
• Visual inspection of equipment.
• Performs allergen absence analysis.
• Performs clean equipment swabbing.
• Complies with safety procedures and uses PPE.
• May perform other duties as required.
• Overtime and weekends may be required.

A member of the Sanitation department, a food service division at Lyons Magnus, the Sanitation Technician will be responsible for supporting all sanitation functions. This position will involve executing tasks on the master sanitation schedule and cleaning equipment while using CIP procedures. This position requires good communication and collaboration with operations, maintenance and internal management.

Pay Range

$21.00 per hour + Shift differential

Hours

• 2nd shift: 2:00pm - 12:00am
• 3rd shift: 9:30pm - 6:30am

Schedule

• 2nd: Monday - Saturday
• 3rd: Sunday - Friday

(Must be willing to work OT and Weekends)

Additional Information

This is an in-house temporary position aligned with a temp-to-hire process. While a permanent role may become available, conversion is not guaranteed and will depend on business needs, performance, and attendance. Benefits eligibility begins after 90 days.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Self-Motivated.


• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and industry standard cleaning procedures.


• Knowledge of HACCP and allergens.


• Establish positive working relationships with Lyons’ management and senior support personnel.

Required Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.


• 1+ years’ experience preferred within related fields

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in sanitation or cleaning role, preferably in manufacturing warehouse.


• Strong attention to detail is important for identifying areas needing cleaning and ensuring areas are in compliance.


• Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with team and reporting sanitation issues.
