Primary Purpose of the Position
This position is responsible for performing all Master Sanitation schedule assignments to ensure that all production areas and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized in compliance with regulatory, environmental, and Food Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to the Master Cleaning Schedule for designated areas.
- Complete sanitation-related paperwork (e.g., Master Cleaning Schedule forms, work orders).
- Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and follow company safety and PPE requirements.
- Perform operational and pre-operational sanitation inspections.
- Conduct weekly preventive maintenance cleaning.
- Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, maintenance, and quality departments regarding sanitation tasks.
- Operate PIT equipment (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, floor scrubber) as needed.
- Perform routine sanitation work including assessments, cleaning, sanitizing, and auditing.
- Follow Lock Out/Tag Out and HACCP procedures.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately to meet HACCP, traceability, FS, and quality standards.
- Maintain good GMP practices.
- Prepare for monthly fogging in work and other facility areas.
- Adhere to the Lifeline Foods Code of Team Behavior and perform duties outside key responsibilities as needed.
- Ensure food safety and quality are maintained.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to airborne particles and chemicals.
- Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Frequent exposure to hot, cold, or humid conditions and machinery with moving parts.
- Occasional exposure to heights, fumes, electrical shocks, and vibrations.
- Typically loud noise levels.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; or at least 2 years of food sanitation experience or relevant education/experience.
- Fumigation certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with FDA/USDA sanitation requirements preferred.
- Knowledge of sanitation equipment and chemicals preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Basic math and mechanical skills preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
- Effective communication skills and proficiency with computers and communication devices.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds, working at heights, and in various environmental conditions.
- Must remain on feet for extended periods and wear safety equipment as required.
