Jackson’s Food Company is seeking a Sanitation Technician to ensure effective filtration and sanitation of equipment and facilities in a food manufacturing setting.

You will follow GMPs, perform fryer and centrifuge cleaning as directed by the Sanitation Lead, and maintain cleanliness in fryer rooms using powered and non-mechanized tools. A safety-first mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; plus related training in quality control is preferred.
  • Experience or training in quality control or quality assurance within food/beverage contexts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sanitize equipment and facility in accordance with food manufacturing regulations and GMPs.
  • Perform fryer cleaning as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Run filtration for avocado oil and occasionally sunflower oil.
  • Maintain general housekeeping in fryer rooms and filtration areas.
  • Operate powered cleaning equipment and report any defective equipment or injuries.
  • Participate in safety training, team development, and plant initiatives.

**POSITION SUMMARY:**

The Sanitation Technician at Jackson's Food Company ensures the effective filtration and sanitation of equipment and the facility, adhering to established food manufacturing regulations and government sanitation requirements. Responsibilities include performing fryer and centrifuge cleaning as directed by the Sanitation Lead, maintaining overall cleanliness in the fryer rooms utilizing various cleaning equipment, both powered and non-mechanized. The technician follows instructions for safe lifting, reports defective equipment promptly, and complies with all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) specific to their assigned area. Active participation in safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives is a key aspect of the role. The Sanitation Technician contributes to upholding a hygienic and safe environment, supporting the company's commitment to delivering high-quality food products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures equipment and facility are effectively sanitized in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations and in compliance with government sanitation requirements.
  • Performs fryer cleaning as prescribed by the Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Runs the filtration process for both Avocado Oil, and at times Sunflower Oil.
  • Maintains general housekeeping in the fryer room and filtration area.
  • Utilizes powered cleaning equipment that may include powered lifts, scissors lifts, power washers, foam applicators, steamers, automatic compactors, motors, and various non-mechanized equipment.
  • Follows instructions for safe lifting and carrying various sizes, shapes, and weight of objects; identifies/reports defective equipment; reports all job-related injuries to management.
  • Follows all applicable GMP's for the area in which he/she is assigned.
  • Participates in all necessary safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months’ experience and/or training in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within food/beverage or dietary supplements and/or training Or equivalent combination of education and experience
