Job summary

Versova is seeking a Sanitation Technician for our Processing department in Harpster, OH. You will maintain cleanliness and biosecurity in our processing facilities to ensure safe, high-quality eggs and compliance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning machines, sanitizing areas, and helping with packaging during production. Lifting up to 50 pounds and weekend/holiday availability are required; overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of relevant sanitation experience
• Familiarity with sanitation procedures and cleaning chemicals
• Basic mechanical aptitude to clean, reset, and perform minor maintenance on equipment
• Understanding of basic preventive maintenance principles
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, safety, and equipment care
• Physical stamina to lift, carry, and stand for long periods
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Basic troubleshooting skills for common equipment issues
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Basic understanding of preventive maintenance concepts
• Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on production demand

Responsibilities

Job Summary

As a Sanitation Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and biosecurity of our processing facilities. This role is essential to maintaining daily operations and preparing the facility for continuous production.

Essential Job Functions

Work Environment

The work environment primarily consists of indoor activities within a food processing plant. Employees can expect exposure to wet and humid conditions, as well as various cleaning chemicals used in sanitation processes. The job involves regular physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday. To ensure safety, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required, including gloves, eye protection, and waterproof gear. Additionally, the role occasionally involves working with basic maintenance tools and equipment as part of preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
