Job summary

Versova is seeking a Processing Lead to oversee the daily egg processing operations in Ohio. You will supervise a team, assign tasks to meet daily goals, and ensure washing, grading, and packaging adhere to quality and safety standards.

You will enforce quality and safety protocols, operate egg-processing equipment, train staff, and maintain accurate production records. The role requires leadership, attention to detail, and physical stamina for a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in food processing or a similar industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of food safety and quality control standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to operate processing equipment and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of processing employees, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and accurate task completion.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members to meet daily production goals. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to stay on track.
  • Enforce quality control measures to maintain high standards of egg quality. Conduct regular inspections and intervene in case of any quality concerns.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations within the processing department. Promote a safety-conscious culture among team members.
  • Operate processing equipment such as egg washers, graders, and packaging machines, ensuring they are used correctly and safely.
  • Oversee cleaning and sanitization practices to maintain a hygienic environment. Ensure all equipment and work areas are regularly sanitized.
  • Assist with monitoring inventory levels of packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and other necessary items. Notify the Processing Manager of any replenishment needs.
  • Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or safety concerns to the Processing Manager. Maintain accurate records of production activities.
  • Participate in training programs and ensure that team members are well-trained in all aspects of their roles, adhering to food safety and quality standards.

Job Summary:

The Processing Lead plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the egg processing department at Trillium Farms. This position supervises and coordinates the efficient washing, grading, and packaging of eggs while ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety protocols. The Processing Lead works closely with the team to ensure smooth operations and consistent product quality.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Team Supervision: Lead a team of processing employees, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and accurate task completion. Offer on-the-job training as needed.
  • Task Assignment: Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members to meet daily production goals. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to stay on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Enforce quality control measures to maintain high standards of egg quality. Conduct regular inspections and intervene in case of any quality concerns.

  • Tools/Software Proficiency: Ability to operate processing equipment and maintain accurate records of production activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work in varying physical environments including temperature fluctuations, noise, and odors.
  • The role is primarily in a food processing environment, with exposure to temperature variations, noise, and odors.
  • Occasional weekend or evening work may be required during peak production periods.
