Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a dedicated Sanitation Technician to support the sanitation supervisor in a GMP manufacturing plant and warehouse. You will help maintain clean production areas, assist with environmental incidents, and train new staff.

Responsibilities include coordinating cleaning tasks, inspecting areas for sanitation improvements, operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety, cGMP, SOP, and SQF requirements. High school diploma and 5+ years experience required.

• Licensed to drive moving/PIT equipment (electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and man-lifts).

Responsibilities

• Assist the sanitation supervisor in delegating tasks and cleaning assignments to sanitation technicians.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other departments in planning cleaning assignments.
• Ensure daily shift goals and performance metrics are met by the sanitation team.
• Conduct daily inventory and order of cleaning supplies.

Performs cleaning and sanitation of product contact parts as stated in the General Sanitation Procedures and Master Sanitation Schedule. Assist in environmental incidents, cleaning investigations, biohazard clean-ups, and chemical spill clean-ups—Inspect areas for sanitary repairs, improvements, or preventative maintenance. Assist in the training of new department employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Support and, if necessary, perform the following cleaning assignments in the cGMP Production Areas:

• Performs cleaning of Production workstations including but not limited to:
  • Zone 1 – Product Contact Parts
  • Zone 2 – Equipment and Non-Product Contact Parts
  • Zone 3 – Walls, Ceilings, Vents, Floors, and Drains
• Performs all daily duties as stated in the Master Sanitation Schedule:
  • Cleans and sanitizes all common areas such as hallways, lockers, locker areas, sanitation rooms, dust collector rooms, drains, docking areas, ovens, ceiling vents, and tiles.
  • Deep cleaning of production workstations as requested.
  • Removal and disposal of trash and cleaning of garbage bins
  • Assist production personnel with changeovers and workstation cleaning.
• Operates the following equipment to assist with sanitation:
  • Electric pallet jack, forklift, and man-lift to perform sanitation duties.
  • Floor scrubbers, power washers and explosion-proof vacuums
  • Dust collectors.
• Checks Soap Titrations and water temperature in tote washers.
• Refills soap, sanitizers, paper towels, and other personal protective equipment.
• Assists with continuous improvement by Identifying opportunities for quality and sanitation.
• Performs sanitation-related tasks including but not limited to scrubbing and mopping the floors, walls, and equipment; removing trash; using the proper chemicals/equipment; and all other related duties as assigned.
• Operates electric pallet jack, forklift, and man-lift to perform sanitation duties.
• Completes daily task documentation as required.
• Reports all repairs and maintenance issues throughout the facility on time.
• Supports Production and Quality teams through sanitation efforts and initiatives.
• Complies with safety, cGMP, SOP and SQF requirements.

• Performs all daily duties as stated in the cleaning schedule.
• Cleans and sanitizes all common areas such as cafeteria, offices, restrooms, entrances, stairwells, lockers, and conference rooms.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork; washed windows, door panels, and sills.
• Cleans washrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors. Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Cleans warehouse areas, including loading docks, rails, racks, restrooms, and offices.
• Deep cleaning of offices, hallways, and other common areas.
• Remove and dispose of trash and clean garbage bins.
• Operates the following equipment to assist with sanitation.
  • Electric pallet jack, forklift, and man-lift to perform sanitation duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) at minimum
• More than five years’ experience as a Sanitation Technician, Production Operator, or Warehouse Operator in a Food Manufacturing Production or Warehouse environment.
• Licensed to drive Moving / PIT equipment such as electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and man-lifts.
• Prior leadership experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as MSDS sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals (S.O.P.). Ability to fill out sanitation/production paperwork accurately. Good verbal communication skills are required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to operate various types of powered industrial equipment (electric pallet jack, forklift, and man ) required.
• Good attention to detail skills required.
