Job summary

Crown Bakeries in Philadelphia seeks a Sanitation Supervisor to lead and train sanitation staff, ensuring cleanliness and food safety in a fast-paced facility. You will implement SSOPs, manage the Master Sanitation Schedule, and report to the Sanitation Manager and/or Plant Manager.

The role demands strong leadership, communication, and the ability to adapt to production schedules while maintaining compliance with safety policies and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years proven work experience in manufacturing, production or industrial setting.
• Aptitude in production processing and Food Safety.
• Experience and/or education in Food Safety.
• Leadership skills.
• Work independently, positive work attitude, self-starter, dedicated, detail oriented & professional demeanor.
• Able to work in a noisy environment and wear EAR PROTECTION.
• Knowledge/experience in FDA, USDA, and food plant operations.
• Knowledge/experience in pest control in a food plant environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Safety gear and PPE required (gloves, goggles, apron, etc.).
• LOTO awareness and understanding.
• Able to perform duties at various heights.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, coach, train, lead and motivate a shift of sanitation workers to meet planned objectives.
• Prepare for regulatory and customer inspections.
• Cooperate with engineering and production departments in the required sanitation of equipment and facilities.

• Operate to preset Quality and Sanitation standards; improve standards and implement where needed.
• Maintain proper morale and teamwork within the department.
• Control inventory (sanitation supplies and chemicals).
• Troubleshoot problems.

• Conduct employee performance evaluations.
• Maintain union relations.
• Coordinate with Receiving, Production, Shipping, and Maintenance departments.

Job Summary

Leading and training all sanitation employees in the cleanliness of the facility. The Sanitation Supervisor is extremely important and critical to the production of food products. You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and follow verbal and written directives. Train and motivate new and seasoned employees. Execute all sanitation and production schedules. Comprehend all SSOP and be flexible and willing to adapt and improvise to accommodate schedule changes in sanitation as well as production. Maintain MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule) weekly. Report to the Sanitation Manager and/or Plant Manager.

Qualifications And Skills

• Safety Glasses or Goggles, Chemical Safety gloves, aprons, suits. Rubber boots. Safety helmet, hairnet and uniform is required to be worn daily.
• (LOTO) refers to Lock out or Tag out of energy of the equipment before cleaning.
• Able to perform duties at various heights.

Work Conditions

This job operates in a production office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
