Job summary

A leading company in the food industry is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to oversee the cleanliness of production equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in food manufacturing and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. This is a 3rd shift position with competitive pay and benefits starting on day one.

SUMMARY:
The Sanitation Supervisor directs and supervises the cleaning of the plant production equipment to meet food safety and quality standard as required by federal, state and local regulations. The Sanitation Supervisor ensures employees follow Company policies and procedures, ensures sanitation performance standards are maintained or exceeded on a daily basis, and supports the commitment and continual improvement to Sanitation Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day sanitation of equipment and facility.

Plans, assigns and directs work on a daily basis.
Develops, monitors, and maintains training documentation for all sanitation workers.

Appraises performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Develops, documents, and maintains cleaning procedures including SSOPs and MSS.

Ensures compliance with all safe operating procedures including LOTO and proper PPE.

Ensures food safety and quality control specifications are met through collaboration with Quality Department.

Works closely with management to improve sanitation results and reduce costs

Supervises, motivates, and trains sanitation production workers

Coordinates with Operations to improve efficiencies impacted by sanitation process.

Coordinates with Maintenance on set-up and tear down requirements for machinery to ensure cleaning standards are met while maintaining machine integrity.

Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
At least two years of manufacturing experience in the food industry; Food industry sanitation experience preferred.
Able to read and interpret documents such as MSDS Safety rules and SSOPs; Able to write reports; Able to compute rate ratio and percent when preparing cleaning chemicals; Efficiently utilize a personal computer outfitted with Microsoft Office software including Word Excel and Outlook

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree or equivalent preferred;

2+ years in a similar role with a focus on sanitation. HACCP Certification preferred, but not required. Combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skilled in analytical critical inductive and deductive logic and reasoning.

Skilled in adaptable flexible yet effective time and scheduling management. Required to conduct meeting or lead groups discussions.

This is a 3rd shift position - typical work hours are 10pm to 7am.

Weekend rotations are required.

Must reside in the United States to be considered.
