Job summary

Haco Culinary in City of Industry, CA is seeking a dedicated sanitation supervisor to oversee cleaning, sanitation, pest control, and GMP compliance. The role reports to the Operations Manager and requires local residency within commuting distance.

You will lead sanitation programs, train staff, develop reports, and coordinate with chemical suppliers to improve plant sanitation while minimizing downtime and ensuring safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage plant cleaning, sanitation, pest control, and compliance with GMPs and regulations.
• Oversee adherence to GMPs regarding sanitation.
• Work across shifts, focusing where sanitation is most needed.
• Monitor and audit cleaning systems for processing and packaging equipment.
• Ensure compliance with company and regulatory quality, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with management and production on sanitation improvements.
• Perform sanitation audits and develop streamlined reporting.
• Prepare monthly reports on inspections and violations and resolutions.
• Develop training programs for sanitation and GMPs and train staff.
• Maintain Master Sanitation Schedule to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with chemical suppliers on sanitation changes and costs.
• Support pest monitoring and control programs and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct annual employee performance reviews and apply corrective actions.
• Validate CIP and COP performance while reducing chemical use and labor hours.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This is a salaried position that reports to the Operations Manager. This position supervises and coordinates activities relating to food safety and the sanitation programs. This position is intended for candidates currently residing within a reasonable commuting distance of our facility in City of Industry, CA. Relocation assistance is not available for this position, and only local candidates will be considered.

SCOPE OF JOB FUNTION:

• Responsible for management of plant cleaning, sanitation, pest control, and compliance with GMP’s, sanitation and all Federal and State regulations, policies and procedures.
• Manage level of adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to sanitation.
• Must work on all shifts, spending most of the time where the bulk of the sanitation is performed.
• Monitor and audit, making adjustment as necessary, processing and packaging equipment cleaning systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety and environmental standards.
• Work closely with management and production personnel on sanitation problems recommending changes to improve sanitation policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform comprehensive sanitation audits and develop a more streamlined tracking and reporting process for sanitation audit reports.
• Compile regular monthly reports regarding inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
• Continue the development of training programs for sanitation and GMP’s, and train affected employees.
• Manage and maintain Master Sanitation Schedule to minimize overtime and downtime on production.
• Work closely with Chemical suppliers on chemical changes/sanitation improvements, results and costs related to plant sanitation.
• Support the on-going plant pest monitoring and control program by managing plant pest control activities and contracted pest control service and maintaining compliance with all applicable organic regulations.
• Conduct annual employee performance reviews to assess their competency, knowledge, and contribution.
• Apply corrective actions as necessary while keeping appropriate management informed.
• Validate performance of the CIP and COP system while reducing chemical usage and labor hours.

Requirements

• Must have a B.A/B.S. from a 4-year College or University.
• At least 4 years’ experience in the food, dairy or beverage manufacturing environment.
• Prior supervisory experience necessary.
• Must be able to multitask & perform multiple tasks & maintain attention to detail.
• Experience in a hands-on work environment.
• Solid verbal & written English communication skills.

DESIRED:

• Knowledge of general manufacturing environment & practices.
• Experience in a Union Environment a plus.
