Job summary

WaveCrest Staffing Group client is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to lead third‑shift sanitation operations in Lake County, IL. You will oversee cleaning of equipment and facilities, ensure GMP/HACCP compliance, and coach a fast‑paced team to uphold food safety standards.

The role requires 2+ years in food manufacturing sanitation with prior supervision, and preference for bilingual English/Spanish. Direct hire with a strong emphasis on teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and chemical handling practices.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate third-shift sanitation operations, ensuring production equipment, processing lines, and facility areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to company procedures and food safety standards.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections, verify sanitation readiness before production startup, and address any deficiencies or corrective actions as needed.
• Review and maintain accurate sanitation documentation, including sanitation records, chemical logs, titration records, and compliance paperwork.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, PPE requirements, OSHA standards, sanitation SOPs, and food safety regulations, including proper chemical handling, storage, and usage.
• Train, coach, and develop sanitation team members, promote accountability and a positive team environment, and address performance concerns through feedback and follow‑up.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to support operational readiness, minimize downtime, and identify opportunities to improve sanitation efficiency and food safety.

• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.


• Strong leadership, coaching, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.


• Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with exposure to wet, cold, dusty, noisy, or chemical‑exposed conditions.


• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver in small spaces.


• Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as business needs require.
