Job summary

The Hershey Company in Plymouth, IN is seeking a sanitation associate to maintain cleanliness in processing areas and common spaces, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will operate cleaning equipment, stock supplies, and support a multi-shift plant.

This role requires 18+ years, a high school diploma or GED, and basic math and reading skills; on-the-job training provided. Night shifts include 12-hour shifts from 6pm to 6am with a 2-2-3 schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.

• One-month related experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize either common areas of the plant or processing room.
• Inventory and stocking of supply rooms as needed.
• Operate cleaning equipment (hand jacks, floor scrubber, etc.) as required.
• Perform periodic deep cleaning per 3rd party audit requirements and guidance from Sanitation Manager.
• Document all cleaning activities.

Shifts

• Nightshift available
• 12-hour shifts (6pm-6am)
• Plant operates on various schedules (schedule assignment determined by candidate preference and plant needs):
• 2-2-3 schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off rotation.Working 3-4 days/week.

Summary

Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing either the common areas of the plant or the processing room by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming and empty trash as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inventory and stocking of supply rooms as needed
• Fill proportions with cleaning chemicals as needed
• Ability to operate hand jacks, manlift and boom,floor scrubber, KaiVac and other cleaning equipment as required
• Responsible for periodic deep cleaning of facilities as outlined by 3rd party audit requirements and as instructed by the Sanitation Manager
• Understanding 5 S programs
• Document all cleaning activities
• Clean all computer stations,control panels,extruder motors/gear boxes,electrical cabinets (exterior),electrical lines, containers/carts,ladders,fan filters/vents, walls/floor mats, sink area/wash pit,mixer platforms, die storage room, pump station,and scales in the processing area

Minimum Qualifications
