Job summary

New Horizons Baking Company in Columbus, OH is hiring for a part-time sanitation/facility cleaner role. The starting wage is $23.29 per hour, paid weekly, with 10-hour shifts.

Shifts available: Friday and Saturday 6am–4:30pm, and Sunday and Monday 6am–4:30pm. You will clean equipment, maintain clean and safe work areas, and support food safety and quality programs.

Qualifications

• Must complete and be competent in all required FSQA, Safety and Job training.
• Must observe and follow all safety programs, wear proper PPE, and work safely at all times.
• Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans equipment, utensils, walls, floors, ceilings and exterior grounds of the facility.
• Disassembles, cleans and re-assembles all equipment assigned.
• Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices in the work area at all times.
• Ensures facility compliance with internal/external requirements to produce safe, legal and quality food.
• Possibly checks and maintains pest control devices.

New Horizons Baking Company has been in operation since 1967. We produce ready-to-eat hamburger buns and English muffins for some of the most iconic brands. We currently serve over 2,000 quick-service restaurants across Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, and Western Pennsylvania, as well as national retail and sandwich makers!

Job Summary:

Cleans equipment, utensils, walls, floors, ceilings and exterior grounds of the facility.

• Responsible for disassembling, cleaning and re-assembling all equipment assigned.
• Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in work area and adjoining areas at all times.
• Responsible for maintaining good safety practices at all times.
• Responsible for maintaining facility in compliance with all internal and external requirements to produce safe, legal and quality food.
• May be responsible for checking and maintaining interior and external pest control devices.

Specific Responsibilities Relating to Food Safety, Legality and Quality:

• Must complete and be competent in all required FSQA, Safety and Job training.
• Must observe and understand all company rules, follow all safety programs, wear proper Personal Equipment (PPE) during the performance of job duties, and work in a safe manner at all times.
• Properly uses cleaning chemicals as specified on manufacturers label
• Properly reads, comprehends and completes required forms
• Conducts post cleaning evaluations to ensure equipment is ready for production
• Reports and takes necessary action to prevent food safety, legality and quality problems from occurring.
• Follows and enforces programs and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Manual to support compliance with the approved GFSI certification standard and other third-party audits.

Abilities Required:

Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. Able to climb extension ladder and work at heights. Able to maneuver and work in confined spaces with variations in temperature, humidity and air quality. Able to lift and hold objects overhead for extended periods of time. Able to stand and/or stoop for the full shift. Able to communicate and work effectively with all employees. Able to follow written and verbal instructions in a timely manner. Able to be forklift certified.
