Job summary

The Town of Moncks Corner is seeking a Sanitation Operator II to safely operate sanitation trucks, lead field crews, and manage debris collection.

You will perform daily equipment inspections, log records, learn routes, and ensure PPE and safety protocols are followed; act as a back-up to crews and liaise with the Sanitation Supervisor and Public Service Director; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year experience as a Sanitation Operator I or equivalent.
• Valid South Carolina Class B Commercial Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Learns routes and interprets route maps as needed.

• Ensures all safety equipment is working properly and all PPE is on.

• Refers to policy and procedure manuals, equipment manuals, codes/laws/regulations, publications and reference texts, etc.
• Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the Sanitation Supervisor, Public Service Director and the general public.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Job description

The Sanitation Operator II is responsible for the safe operation of the sanitation truck and refuse collection. This position is also responsible for debris collection and providing leadership in the field.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One (1) year experience as a Sanitation Operator I or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid South Carolina Class B Commercial Driver’s License.

Grade N-107, Minimum Salary: $42,126.54
