Job summary

TempWorks Software Incorporated is seeking a Sanitation Operator in California's Production department. The role centers on cleaning and sanitizing designated areas and equipment to meet time and quality standards, ensuring production can start on time.

The successful candidate will follow SOPs, wear PPE, and comply with HR policies. Forklift certification is required, and the ability to work all shifts, including nights and weekends, is essential.

Qualifications

  • Great attention to detail.
  • Stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Exposure to moving parts, fumes or chemicals; moderate to high noise.

Responsibilities

  • Follow plant SOP, PPEs, and HR policies.
  • Use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
  • Break and lunch coverage for other department positions.
  • Participate in plant wash down procedures.
  • Report all safety and policy violations to supervisor.
  • Use tools to keep area clean (broom, mop, hose, blower, etc.).
  • Take direction on room preparation and execute accordingly.
  • Handle and dispense chemicals per procedures.
  • Complete site-specific training as applicable.
  • Identify and report mechanical issues to Sanitation Manager.
  • Follow PPE guidelines in sanitation processes.
  • Willing to perform other duties not listed and follow all company policies.

Sanitation Operator

Department: Production

Status: Full Time

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Supervises: None

Position Purpose/Summary

This person’s primary responsibility is to clean and sanitize their designated processing area and equipment. Ensures the equipment and work areas are cleaned in a manner consistent with established requirements. Clean and sanitizes work areas and equipment according to established time constraints and quality standards to allow production to begin on time

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must follow plant SOP, PPE’s, and HR policies.
  • Use of chemicals cleaning and sanitizing agents.
  • Beak and Lunch coverage for other department positions.
  • Participates in plant wash down procedure..
  • Responsible for reporting all violations of safety and other policies to their supervisor.
  • Use of various tools to keep area clean (broom, mop, water hose, blower, dust pan, scraper, etc.)
  • Able to take direction regarding room preparation and executes according to instructions.
  • Handles and dispenses chemicals according to procedures.
  • Completes required site‑specific training as applicable.
  • Identifies and reports mechanical issues to Sanitation Manager.
  • Understands the proper utilization of all PPE associated with the sanitation process.
  • Must be willing to perform other duties not listed in this job description.
  • Follow all company policies including but not limited to general manufacturing and safety practices.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the environment is moderate to high.
