Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Business Operations Manager - Sanitation Business Administration to oversee daily operations of the sanitation unit, including strategy, planning, budget management, and performance improvement.

This role leads staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and coordinates with stakeholders to optimize routes, improve customer service, and drive data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Six (6) years of experience in capital budget development, operating budget development, full-cost recovery analysis, accounting, accounts payable.
• Three (3) years of supervisory/management responsibilities.
• Equivalency: associate degree +8 years including three (3) years of supervisory/management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manages the business administration activities for the Sanitation department; provides leadership, manages staff, and delegates tasks to subordinates.
• Identifies training needs and institutes changes to improve operations; monitors tracking systems supporting sanitation programs.
• Provides technical guidance to personnel performing business support; oversees workload, permits and licensing, and ensures accuracy of business functions.
• Develops and implements budget and resource allocation; tracks revenues and expenditures and identifies funding needs.
• Represents the program area at meetings, hearings, and conferences; serves on boards and committees.
• Establishes goals and objectives; develops schedules and standards for achieving goals; directs evaluation activities.
• Performs any other work as needed.
