Job summary

City of Miami Beach is seeking a technically skilled supervisor in the Sanitation Division to assist the Assistant Director and Director in directing operations, scheduling, and supervising technical, administrative, and clerical staff to improve efficiency.

The role emphasizes customer service, interdepartmental coordination, safety compliance, and budget support, with opportunities to implement innovative procedures while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years experience in general verifiable, progressively responsible municipal sanitation and/or maintenance operation, including three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Strong customer service background.
• Proven track record of progressive supervisory positions with the ability to be flexible and innovative.

Responsibilities

• Oversees planning, training, directing and evaluating the work of subordinates assigned to the areas identified.
• Assists in developing and is responsible for the execution of the Division's operations schedule.
• Assures good customer relations with the public through delivery of service, resolution of complaints, and prompt handling of special requests.
• Coordinates assignments with other departments to correct issues that are identified throughout the City.
• Conducts field inspections and reviews reports of activities to determine present effectiveness and efficiency of operation using best management practices to develop more effective and efficient procedures and programs.
