Job summary

Highland Baking Company is seeking an experienced Sanitation Manager in Northbrook, IL, to lead a fast-paced sanitation team in a food manufacturing facility.

You will oversee cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance, working closely with Production, QA, and Maintenance to keep operations safe and efficient. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to train staff across shifts.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of sanitation experience in food manufacturing or similar.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, develop, and manage the sanitation team.
• Maintain and execute the Master Cleaning Schedule and sanitation procedures.
• Ensure SSOPs, SOPs, GMPs, and food safety requirements are followed.
• Maintain compliance with SQF, HACCP, FDA, OSHA, EPA and local regulations.
• Perform inspections and ensure sanitation tasks are completed on schedule.
• Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee environmental, ATP, and allergen swabbing and document results.
• Maintain chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Coordinate sanitation around production schedules and changeovers.
• Ensure proper training on sanitation procedures and safety practices.
• Enforce Lockout/Tagout procedures.
