Job summary

Bauer Consulting Group, Inc. (The Food Recruiter) in Hackensack, NJ, is seeking a Sanitation Manager to lead the sanitation team and ensure food safety compliance across all shifts.

The role requires extensive knowledge of SQF, BRC, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and MSDS, with a focus on maintaining SQF certification and coordinating cleaning supplies, PPE, and sanitation equipment. Weekend work is required, and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; associate/bachelor degree preferred
• Extensive knowledge of SQF, BRC, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and MSDS
• Experience maintaining sanitation for food safety, quality, and production
• Supervises the Sanitation Crew on all shifts and resolves issues
• Maintains SQF certification with third‑party audits
• Coordinates cleaning products, PPE, parts for sanitation equipment and supplies
• Ensures SSOPs, MSS, and chemical safety recordkeeping
• Works with production and maintenance to meet sanitation and food safety requirements
• Willingness to work Saturdays and Sundays
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Sanitation Crew on all shifts.
• Analyze sanitation areas, research and resolve sanitation issues.
• Maintain sanitation programs and SQF certification with 3rd‑party audits.
• Coordinate purchasing of cleaning products, PPE, parts for sanitation equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure plant compliance with SSOPs, MSS, and chemical safety; keep records.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and other departments to meet sanitation standards.
• Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday.
• Assist with training and safety initiatives as needed.

• Coordinates the purchase of cleaning products, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), parts for sanitation equipment and all sanitation supplies.
• Ensures plant compliance with sanitation and safety programs: Recordkeeping, SSOP’s (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures), MSS’s (Master Sanitation Schedules) and chemical safety.
• Works with production, maintenance, and other departments to assure that food products meet the appropriate sanitation and Food Safety requirements.
• Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus

Compensation

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000
