Job summary

Red Boot Beverage is seeking a Sanitation Lead to oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of the facility, including food prep areas, storage spaces, and non-food handling areas. This role may also develop and maintain sanitation training programs.

Third shift available (11:30 pm–7:00 am) with shift differential. On-site, full-time position requiring US work authorization and strong focus on safety, records, and cross-functional collaboration with production, quality and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in blending in food and beverage environment or combined education/experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and ability to interpret results.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Experience with Cleaning and Sanitization Practices in warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and oversee the daily activities of the sanitation team to ensure areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized per Master Sanitation Schedule, SOPs and timeframes.
  • Provide hands-on support to team members and help prioritize tasks to meet production and sanitation needs.
  • Draft and maintain SOPs for cleaning and sanitizing work areas (food and non-food contact surfaces).
  • Drive continuous process improvement for sanitation by identifying opportunities for effectiveness, efficiency and consistency.
  • Ensure team members adhere to all cleaning and sanitation SOPs; identify gaps, coach staff, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain sanitation records, checklists, chemical records, inspections and other documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare, concentrate, store and identify cleaning solutions for the facility.
  • Collaborate with production, quality and maintenance to meet sanitation requirements and address issues impacting sanitation or production readiness.
  • Inspect and verify sanitation activities to ensure standards are met and address deficiencies with the appropriate department.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies; communicate hazards and address unsafe actions.
  • Meet all GMP, SQF and safety requirements; participate in safety meetings.

Position Summary

A sanitation lead isresponsible for overseeing the cleaning and sanitizing of a facility, including food preparation areas, storage spaces, and non-food handling areas.They may also develop and maintain training programs related to sanitation.

Position Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assigning and overseeing the daily activities of the sanitation team to ensure all assigned areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to the Master Sanitation Schedule, SOPs, and required timeframes.
  • Provides hands-on support to the sanitation team members and help with prioritization of tasks to meet production and sanitation requirements.
  • Responsible for drafting and maintaining SOPs for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, including both food and non-food contact surfaces.
  • Focuses on continuous process improvement for the sanitation department by identifying opportunities to improve sanitation effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Responsible for ensuring team members adhere to all cleaning and sanitation SOPs; consistently identifies gaps in process, provides coaching to team members, and recommends corrective action when applicable.
  • Ensures all sanitation records, checklists, chemical records, inspections, and other required documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the proper preparation, concentration, storage and identification of cleaning solutions for the facility.
  • Works cross functionally with production, quality, and maintenance to ensure all sanitation requirements are met and issues impacting sanitation or production readiness are communicated and addressed.
  • Inspects and verifies sanitation activities upon completion to ensure sanitation standards are met and deficiencies are addressed or communicated to the appropriate department.
  • Cultivates and promotes a strong safety culture and follows all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicates workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participates in safety meetings as required.
  • Meets all GMP, SQF, and safety requirements; participate in food and safety meetings.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Three (3) plus years of experience in blending (food and beverage industry preferred) environment or combination of education and experience preferred
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and ability to interpret and analyze results
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively apply mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills
  • Previous warehouse experience with Cleaning and Sanitization Practices (food industry preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as in a team environment to attain personal, team and company goals
  • Well-organized and skilled in time management, prioritization, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Work Expectations
  • This is a regular, full-time position with assigned shift located onsite.
  • The ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment, manufacturing plant and occasionally outside in what may be adverse weather conditions.
  • The work environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, extreme noise, visual strain, confined spaces, fumes, odors, dust mists, and gases.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk andlisten.
  • This position requires long periods sitting/driving a forklift, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing and operating machinery.
  • The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to up to 50+ pounds many times per day.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
