Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking a Sanitation Technician II for a USDA food plant in Illinois. The role involves cleaning production, packaging, and storage areas to meet stringent sanitation standards.

Qualifications

  • B.S in science field or Certified Sanitarian is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Food Safety Policies & Safety Procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate daily sanitation activities to ensure cleaning schedules are met.
  • Inform Manager of issues in the department.
  • Manage sanitation to ensure equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and inspected for cleanliness.
  • Wear proper PPE and follow GMPs and other company rules.
  • Maintain working knowledge of sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure sanitizing chemicals and PPE are used correctly and safely.
  • Make sound decisions based on manager guidance.
  • Work in an organized manner to meet daily goals.
  • Accept and give feedback and modify behaviors accordingly.
  • Be self-motivated and continuously look to improve.
  • Communicate clearly and actively listen; build teamwork.
  • Oversee overall sanitation of a USDA food plant and SSOPs.
  • Adhere to GMP, PPE, and SOPs; participate in training.
  • Maintain commitment to personal development and training.

Job Description

To assist in complying with State, Federal and government regulations for the production and storage of food by cleaning and sanitizing production, packaging, storage areas and production equipment in the manufacturing facility.



KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS


  • Responsible for following all Food Safety Policies & Safety Procedures.

  • Plan and coordinate daily sanitation activities to ensure cleaning schedules are met.

  • Inform Manager of issues in the department.

  • Manages sanitation process ensuring that all equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and

  • inspected for cleanliness.

  • Wear proper PPE and follow GMPs and other company rules.

  • Maintains active working knowledge of all sanitation and cleaning procedures.

  • Ensures sanitizing chemicals, safety equipment, power equipment and manual tools are being

  • used correctly and safely.

  • Makes sound decisions based on managers guidance

  • Works in an organized manor to meet daily goals

  • Able to accept and give feedback and modify behaviors accordingly

  • Self-motivated and continuously looking to improve

  • Responsible for work done and focused on improving

  • Clearly communicates to others and actively listens

  • Overall sanitation of a USDA food plant

DIMENSIONS

Primary shift responsibility for this position is 3rd shift 10:00 PM6:00 AM.


Sanitation Technician II may be responsible for sanitation activities in multiple buildings.



Qualifications

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE


  • B.S in science field or Certified Sanitarian is preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing plant and of sanitation



Supervisory Experience Is Required


  • Knowledge in HACCP, Microbiology, Sanitation, Chemical Safety, Pest Control, and GFSI
