Primary Purpose

Lead and facilitate the full-time sanitation crew and participate in the sanitation of the distribution facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the department supervisor in their absence.
• Help plan, organize, delegate, and follow-up on associates' duties.
• Complete required paperwork promptly.
• Ensure all areas operate safely, orderly, and effectively.
• Assist with interviewing and hiring new associates.
• Perform sanitation tasks and ensure crew tasks meet standards.
• Train sanitation associates and subcontracted crew on sanitation procedures.
• Ensure safety practices are understood and followed.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and regulations.
• Manage sanitation supply inventory and advise on equipment and supply purchases.
• Perform minor maintenance on cleaning equipment.
• Recommend process modifications to improve efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Ability to meet production standards.
• Ability to read and understand product identifiers.
• Flexibility to work required schedules.
• Proficiency with a computer for data entry and research.
• Motivated team player with attention to detail and multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Stand for long periods.
• Work in varying warehouse conditions, including cool temperatures and on powered industrial trucks.

Preferred Requirements

• High School diploma.
• Certification on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
• Experience in distribution environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Effective leadership skills.
