Primary Purpose

Lead and facilitate full time sanitation crew and participates in the sanitation of the distribution facility.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Act for department supervisor in his/her absence.
• Help to plan, organize, delegate and follow-up with associate’s job duties to be completed.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all areas of responsibility are running in a safe, orderly, effective manner.
• Assist the supervisor with interviewing and hiring new associates.
• Perform own sanitation tasks while ensuring that all crew tasks are accomplished to standard.
• Train other sanitation associates and or sub-contracted crew on sanitation tasks.
• Ensure that the crew understands and follows safe work practices.
• Responsible for OSHA Compliance and Regulations.
• Maintain sanitation supply inventory.
• Provide research and advises management on equipment and supply purchases.
• Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on cleaning equipment.
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Ability to meet production standards set by the company.
• Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
• Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties.
• Able to use a personal computer for data entry and research purposes.
• Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Reach, stoop, bend and lift up to and including 60 lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).

Preferred Requirements

• High School Education.
• Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
• Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment preferred.
• Excellent customer service, communication, verbal and written skills.
• Demonstrate effective and successful leadership skills.
