City of Grand Forks is seeking a dependable Sanitation Collection Equipment Operator to join our team. You will operate collection equipment, collect refuse, and contribute to keeping the community clean and healthy.

This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service while supporting seasonal operations and facility upkeep. Selected candidate will perform daily inspections, assist with maintenance, and work with residents to address concerns, ensuring routes are completed efficiently

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operation and safety practices for light to heavy equipment.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures; maintain safety standards.
• Strong customer service and teamwork to support municipal operations.

Responsibilities

• Collect refuse using manual or automated equipment.
• Operate collection trucks and hydraulic refuse truck compactor.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and document results.
• Maintain inventory and assist with container maintenance/repair.
• Assist with seasonal street maintenance and land/ facility upkeep.
• Interact professionally with residents and address concerns.
